In fact, it gave me a hankering to see Japanese films in general. I rewatched Ring, Ring 2 and Audition all in the one night! Here's what I looked like afterwards:

Uh, Chi, you didn't happen to work at a call centre in Glasgow once? You look awfully like a former colleague of mine.

I happened across the street in my city of residence called "Glasgow" a week or so ago. I thought it's location was very fitting - in the middle of the Ghetto/Section 8 housing. I had taken a VERY wrong turn. =)

If you are indeed talking about Battle Royale, that movie was fucking hilarious. And violent! Remember when that chick stabs that guy in his crotch 9 times or so? Yeah.

Another ultra-violent Japanese movie that should be watched is Suicide Club. It's violent but not in an overly-gory funny sort of way. In the first scene 80 teenage girls jump in front of a subway.

Yeah that doesn't sound gratuitous.

Rip-offs seem to abound in Japan these days. I saw a trailer for something called The Grudge the other day, and I thought it was a Ringu sequel until the title came up!
