I was once on the underground, and it stopped in the middle of the tunnel. All the lights went off in the carriage and all these guys in boiler suits got on the train. I was expecting one of them to say "Take this train to Libya!" but it turned out they were just the maintenence crew.

Ever been in a train that breaks down in the middle of the tunnel, forcing everyone to walk in the darkness to the next station? That's happened to practically everyone I know save me. I feel like I'm missing out.

I've had to walk from the middle of the tunnel to the station before, it's annoying, but I found it funny, there's something so surreal about walking in a huge crowd in a dark tunnel in complete silence.

While good quaility Australian dramas rate well over here, actual soaps have relatively low ratings. The shameful fact is that they are made to sell overseas, much like Baywatch. The companies that make them get a lot of money out of it.

Weirdest TV show to cross the pond (IMHO): The Waltons. One of the flatmates where I was staying really loved it. I'd never watched it in the US, and was amazed that it was even more cornball than I'd imagined.
