Les, you are the weakest link. The correct answer was "Read-Only Memory". Nothing to do with sheep. Ar oh em, Les: ROM.
Aha.

Captain Palin, what has happened to you?
I am Palin of Borg. Resistance is futile.
A "palin-drone", sir? That is a terrible pun, and it does not even comply with the rules.
Rules are irrelevant. We will not comply. This contest will adapt to service us.
But you have complied, sir. This comic contains 331 individual single-letter palindromes.
Stop resisting! It's time to show your pointy-eared, logical ass how futile that is.

So Namgubed said this contest would close Friday, 12:21 AM GMT. Why no judgment yet?
Remember, he posts from the United States, where 12:21 AM GMT is the night before. So Friday's 12:21 AM GMT in the US is officially Saturday 12:21 AM GMT. Who's to say which is real?
Then there are two equally valid reference frames. Either this is a Schroedinger thing which won't take form until it is observed (sorry, Kitty) ...
Or both exist, and it will reach a cusp halfway inbetween at 12:21 PM GMT on Friday. Anyway, time should flow backward from there, creating a cosmic palindrome, equal on both sides.
Is this stuff we're talking real, or are we just seeing whose head explodes first, sort of like a quantum biscuit game?
Quiet! Look through that net connection. Happycakeman's going nucular! And don't forget the whole palindrome. TMG MA 12:21 AM GMT. The Mighty Gabe's mom is involved!

Sorry I took so long to decide, but there's a lot of good stuff here, so it wasn't easy!

I'll start with the honorable mentions:

Kajun Firefly: "Captain Palindrome" - great sidekick idea
lemur68: "Hell? Eh" and " 'S Satan at ass"
fpd: "Robot mum Tobor", "Dog God", "Soap Opera Recaps" - in the words of Bill Murray in "Tootsie", "that is one nutty hospital!"
fuzzyman: "Call me Sidney"
andydougan: "He won a Toyota now, eh?"

And now, the moment for which you've all been waiting ever-so-patiently...

The winner is ...

**kaufman**

for his combination of "Writer's block" for the nice palindrome pun, and "ABBA brainstorming session" for the clever rule bender and Swedish flag background!

Congratulations, kaufman!

And thanks, everyone, for your efforts!

Those weren't the hidden palindromes. They weren't even in the strips. I placed various non-palindromic references to known palindromes to obscure the real palindromes. For example, I said "Doctor Awkward," which is not a palindrome, instead of Dr. Awkward. I also mentioned Geese beholding God, but never asked "Do Geese see God?" Anyway, here are the actual hidden palindromes.

In the first strip, the hidden palindrome is the word "a", which is used as the indefinite article before words beginning with a consonant sound. It appears in the first panel just before the word "palindrome."

In the second strip, the hidden palindrome is the word "I", which is used as the subjective, first-person pronoun. It is said by the elf who is talking to Doctor Awkward in the last panel.

The third panel of each strip contained clues. Knowing what the answers are, you should be able to recognize the clues.
