My actual mix is more mundane. But a friend who listened to my mix "A Pale Imitation of Life" refers to it as "A Poor Excuse for Music". The visual effects caused by the color cartidge running out of ink is ... FANTASTIC. I love the look of it. Will be looking forward to listening to the disc tonight.

I have to apologize for the fact that the color channels on my printer are totally dead and that I had to print in B&W. But I changed out the graphics to one that was almost monochromatic. BTW it is an image that Spankling sent me. (I didn't ask him to. He claims it is his. You'll understand when you see it.)

"Don't Bite The Dick" is an infectious tune that will leap into your mind and eat your thoughts. You'll be humming it at work, school, and home. Just don't sing it aloud at the grocer's. The ladies don't seem to like that.

Mr. Coe also wrote such classics as "Cum Stains On The Pillow" and "I Made Linda Lovelace Gag."

I haven't seen dcomposed around in a while. Hope he's okay. Anyone know? Haven't seen much of file13 either.

I'm really sorry, lads and ladesses, I'm a bit slow at the minute. I'd love to pretend in a post-post-ironic way that it's just laziness, but in actual fact I’ve [redcurrant continues to gush almost exactly as if anyone actually gives a...] got some deadlines for assignments to write for next week for both German and my cert ed course. I’ve also got to plan and deliver some training at a national symposium next Wednesday. In between, I’m writing a Visual Basic diploma course, teaching classes, learning to drive, writing a novel on tribal subcultures, learning to play guitar, and moving house by the end of the month. In between times, I’m hanging out at the gym and…oh yeah, holding down a full-time day job.

However, will definitely have the tracks burned by Easter weekend and sent out immediately after. I've already got thingie's Love & Money West End Musical extravaganza...

Incidently, I've just bought one of those Palm Zire things. It's like living in the future! Shiny touch sensitive computers in your pocket! Not long before we get the silver suits and flying surf-boards...

The whole presentation was shitty, there was no clear theme above "Fit as much crazy scrap onto a CD as possible" and I can't even remember why I included maps in there now. Oh yes, because the original artwork was drowned in the Channel (f*cking RNLI!)

Though the "liner" notes are a tad longer than a Gordon Way answering machine message and the CD has more tracks than a switching yard, I rather like jes_lawson's CD. It's as if he picked up his subconscious, tossed it about, and caught the remainders on a disc.

The theme for me could be "Songs I've Never Heard Before," but King Missile fudges up that bit. As for the highlights, these struck me immediately:

"Here Kitty Kitty"
"The Buildings Aren't Going Anywhere"
"Lovely Head"
"There Goes The Fear"
"Eple" and
"Ain't That Enough."

But I'm sure I will uncover more gems upon further review. And I'm proud to say that I now know more about JES than a stranger rightly should. The only thing his liner notes did not reveal was the total value of JES.

What can I say? John Edward Salthouse loves his work. I could have written twice as much, easily but then again I'm verbose.

I'd like to apologise to all my group again for the lateness. I've gone all obsessive-compulsive disorder on the tracklisting. I'm currently paranoid that the CD doesn't rock enough. I'll aim to send it out next week, so you should all get it eventually. It may or may not rock. Or it might have morphed back into a disco compilation with krautrock overtones like it was last week.
