Of course Ren & Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon was supposed to gross you out. That's why it's a success.
I don't know why so many people are crazy about Big O; there's been no plot progress in 13 episodes. It's just like Pilot Candidate.

I hate Trigun because the show's comedic moments failed to get even a chuckle from me!
I hate it because of the annoying filler episodes which made up approximately the first half of the series!
I felt the animation was at times unbearably bad, the music poor at best, and Vash to be annoying as hell!
I thought the ending sucked; Vash claims to reject his strict interpretation of his philosophy while at the same time not killing Knives (the series never indicating he could be rehabilitated)
Legato and Wolfwood are the only entertaining characters, and we know what happens to them. =(
