Whenever I'm going to a party, I always just tell my dad.
Why just your dad? Why not your mum?
Nah, Mum always asks: How are you getting there? How will you get home? What time will you be back? Who will be there? What will you be doing? What are you wearing? Who will be driving? .....
And your dad?
He just says: Okay, bye!

You know, my wife was so mad at me last night, and yet the funny thing is that I still have no idea why! .....
Really? What happened?
Well, she baked me a cake, and left it on the kitchen table to cool. And then our dog Trixie came along and ate it. So Felicity burst into tears, and I said .....
You commiserated with her, right?
Well sure —and that's when she got really mad at me! ....... And yet, all I said was: "Don't cry, darling, we can always get another dog"!

I wanna buy a pet for my brother's birthday, but I'm not sure what kind to get .....
Tell me about your brother, and I might be able to make some suggestions!
Well he's a bachelor, 35 years old, filthy rich — billionaire, in fact — beautiful house, Rolls, Porsche, that sort of thing, and he wants a pet to fit in to that kind of environment.
Jason, I reckon I know just the thing! .....

A lot of users are calling the I.T. Help Desk to say their screens are completely blank after the upgrade. I need you to drop everything and fix this!
But it works fine on my PC.
Oooh, well, if it works fine on your PC, there's obviously no fix necessary. We'll just have all the users drop over to I.T. and line up to use your PC!!!!!
Did you sense a hint of sarcasm from Felicity then? That seemed totally uncalled for!
You're right — can't understand it ..... I just hope all the users dropping over to use my PC will be much kinder.

Life is really getting me down lately — it's so hard to be happy!
