Sometimes when I feel like things are getting tough, I like to meditate.
That sounds peaceful.
Being alone and blocking out the world helps me to feel better about myself.
That sounds tranquil.
And being around other people makes me feel better about myself anyway, so it's like I feel twice as good.
That sounds dubius, ass.

Do you ever wonder what the most minimal thing is that you could do to make the world a better place?
Do you mean something that would only affect one person? Or something involving almost no effort?
Both, I suppose. Do you ever think about something seemingly insignificant that could somehow end up benefitting the whole entire world in some way?
You mean like steering otherwise pointless conversations into the ground by never directly answering the questions that are asked of you?
I don't think that's a very good example.
Then in that case, no. I never, ever think about that.

They say that nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.
I suppose that could motivate someone with a certain mindset.
What kind of mindset is that, exactly?
The mindset of someone who's never heard of Oreos.
That kind of dulls the inspiration a bit, doesn't it?
Under the right circumstances, I would legitmately murder an entire family for a sleeve of Fig Newtons.

It's important to be prepared for any sort of emergency. Home insurance has become more important than ever.
You can't be too careful.
Even those who appear to be the most innocent can potentially commit a nefarious act.
You've gotta look out for number one.
Exactly. Anyway, I'm going to head inside now. Maybe catch up on some reading.
Oh, this is your house? I thought we were breaking and entering.

Sometimes I wonder about the etymology of greetings.
Like how we decided to use the word "hello" when we see each other?
Sort of. More like why they're called "condolences". Or "congratulations". Or why we differenciate birthdays based on gender.
I'm not sure I catch your drift.
Oh, I'm sorry. I meant to say I was pondering the etymology of greeting *cards*.
Goodbye.

I don't understand the need to curse explanding to mainstream media.
It's like when advertisers realized that sex sells. Swearing has become the norm in our society. It's part of the progression of time.
I was expecting you to crudely dismiss my opinion.
Why the fuck would I want to do that?

I've come up with a solution for the gun control problem in America.
Really? What is it?
Every time someone wants to buy a gun, you ask what they're going to use the gun for.
I'm with you so far.
And they can't respond without using the word "foreigners", they don't get a gun.
As a realist, I think that's an impossible idea. But as a brown guy, I'm also willing to endorse it.

On self-awareness.
I've been thinking a lot about the pros and cons of hindsight lately.
Oh really? What about them?
Do you think it's better to never be aware of your mistakes, or to learn from them while having to deal with them?
The latter seems like the more enlightened way to go. If you never learn from your mistakes, you're going to keep making them.
But it'd be okay because you wouldn't have to accept blame. You're basically above the law.
I'm beginning to think talking about this with you was a mistake. But hindsight is 20/20.

On gullibility.
There's an old saying that goes, "There's a sucker born every minute."
Don't I know it.
People will believe anything you tell them if you can make a convincing enough argument.
Well, sure, but what does that have to do with what you just said?
That's what the saying means. It means people are easily fooled.
Are you sure? My brother said it's because babies are always sucking on things.

On economic stimulation.
Consumerism is pretty incredible if you think about it.
The idea that it's important that we as taxpayers must also stimulate the economy is kind of harrowing.
But it's all part of a delicate system. We have to continue paying for merchandise in order to keep everyone else in business.
That's fair, but it still seems a little dubious that it's on us to take care of everything.
You're using a lot of ten dollar words today.
I'm glad you noticed. I learned about them from my new gold-plated Scrabble dictionary.

On OCD.
I'm a big fan of consistency. I like to keep things streamlined.
Is that why you're always the first one to say something when we have a conversation?
It's not my fault you always decide to stand over there.
I like consistency too, jerkface.

On carpe diem.
The amount of time on this planet is finite.
It's important to take advantage of every moment.
There's only so many years we have left.
Not a moment should go to waste.
Of course, we just essentially said the same thing in four different ways. That might have been a waste of multiple moments.
Good point. Wanna go throw rocks at pigeons?
