Hey Rashanna
Guess what I've learnt in class today.
🤔what have you learnt?
I learnt about the Richter Scale
🤔What is the Richter Scale?

Well, the Richter Scale is a numerical scale for expressing the magnitude of an earthquake on the basis of seismograph oscillations.
Wow. Tell me more.
Okay. The Richter Scale was also developed in 1935 by Charles F. Richter.
Interesting. What else did you learnt about this instrument?
Well, I've also learnt about the nine different levels of the Richter Scale.
Alright. Go ahead and tell me about it.

Okay. The Richter Scale measures energy waves emitted by earthquakes. At 0-1.9 energy waves can be detected only by a seismograph. At 2-2.9 hanging objects may swing.
Continue☺️
At 3-3.9 energy waves are comparable to the vibrations of a passing truck while at 4-4.9 energy waves may break windows, cause small or unstable objects to fall.
Great. This is really interesting😄
At 5-5.9 energy waves may cause furnitures to move, at 6-6.9 damage to well-built structures, severe damage to poorly built ones.
This instrument is so great.

At 7-7.9 buildings maybe displaced from foundations, cracks may appear in the earth; underground pipes broken while at 8-8.9 bridges maybe destroyed, and few structures may left standing.
You have learnt alot.
Finally, at 9 and over near total destruction, waves moving through the earth visible with naked eye.
That's great. Thank you for sharing with me so much information on the Richter Scale. I've learnt alot☺️.
Your Welcome. Later👋
Okay. Goodbye👋
