It's hardly supposed to be fun. The wages of sin is death, and hell is the ultimate punishment in that one is separated from God for eternity.
The classically accepted idea of Hell as being a burning place of fire and brimstone is based on Gehenna, a burning pit upon which the early biblical writers based there ideas.
You do know comics are supposed to be funny? Hence the name.
In my day you could have fun and learn.

Because of this there are countless omissions, mistakes and misinterpretations which affect the character of the work, and indeed the meaning. “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife"?
