Something tells me the other occupants of St. George's Court are going to be rocking hard to the sounds coming through the walls as I crank it up to 11.

This time round I have tried to get a balance of stuff I think you'll like based on experience (there's some hip-hop for dcom, some jazz for umfum for example, and there's now gonna be some more "rawk" for kitty). Two discs, one for "rocking", one for "chilling".

Do people want to see my approximate tracklist now or do they wanna wait and be suprised?

Except for the last track, all these songs feature at least one titular element--and sometimes two! The last track is a song of hope and a tribute to "beau-tay." The only thing violent about it is the name of the group--Brute Force.

*******************
The songs with your member names beside them are your theme songs based on what little I "know" about you.

dcomposed "Black Eye"--after viewing your website.

evil_d "Am I Evil?"--just for your screen name and not the philosophy represented by same.

little_kitty "Little Fury"--if the fur fits...

jes_lawson "The Gift"--for some reason, I can imagine you using this mode of transporatation.

***The discs are burned and almost ready. I'm working on a bonus CD to send along, too. I'm not posting the track list for the Bonus CD--it's a surprise.

I have the remastered CD, so "The Gift" sounds pretty good. Still, if you have trouble hearing the vocals, use your balance control to hear the left or right channel more clearly. If I remember correctly, the vocals are in the left and the music is in the right!

I should be shipping out CDs on Monday.

mailed my discs out at 1:38pm (EST) today. it was a bit cheaper to send via Air Mail to Canada than Regular Guy-in-blue-shorts-and-black-shoes-walking-down-your-street-scratching-himself-and-opening-up-your-box Mail, so I went with that. kitty and Brad should be pleased.

yep... i'm a cheap, canadian bastard. actually, i'm a student. i think that counts for something. i get my money next week... so expect the cd's... i have no idea when to expect the cd's.
as for the quality of the CD? well... I like it, i've listened to it all the time, but then again, i listen to a very diverse accumulation of music. ie: my cd player, at the moment, has serial joe, 2 rancid cd's, a burned punk one, and b4-4.

dcomposed
September 27, 2003 6:09 AM

Oh shit, is quality important? I just had a listen to the second disc I made and this is teh suck like nothing has ever been the suck before. I'd just like to point out the track five I put on because of something Scyess said, the uber gay is not my fault, and track fifteen was just not meant to be there. I had two burned cds, one was E-40, one was this guy. THEY'RE NAMES ARE SO CLOSE TOGETHER I DIDN'T REALISE I WAS LABELING THE CDS WRONG. So when I ripped it I thought I was ripping the e-40 song, when I was actually ripping this. I WOULD NEVER SEND THIS TO ANYONE IF I HAD A CHOICE. Of course, I had the choice of testing the cd first.

Really, really sorry about 15.

I agree with umfum - I will be critical but fair with all the CDs I receive. I expect some of you to be saying "Good grief, Jes_, what the hell was with that Roger Whittaker track" or "Travis? AAAGH!" But hopefully it will be more a case of "St. Germain were groovy" or "Where can I get Mark B and Blade's album?"

My parents visited me this weekend and my printer isn't playing by the rules so I'll have to put back dispatch for another couple of days. Hopefully it'll be worth the wait...

And how bad can 15 be?

Top songs from the Dcom CD(s)

Greg Champion - Dermott Brereton Is A Hood: "Any bloke from from Frankston can't be very good" Nice one.

Illergic - Illergic Reaction: Real.

Tripod - Hot Girl In The Comic Store : Funneh

Pauline Pantsdown - I Don't Like It: Daft bint. Deserves what she gets - i.e. the Michael taken right out of her.

From the Bonus CD:

Track 8 - Roots Manuva - Join The Dots. Soon all the world will know the awesome power of Roots Manuva. Good work fella. Especially hope kitty likes this one.

Cheers Batman.

(I started this post about three hours ago)

-------------

I have in my hand right now (litterally) a sexy little package (:O) from umfum. Once I get around to opening it I'll give it a go.

...

I'm not doing anything, might as well do it now.. here I go.. I'm opening it...

I think I put too much tape on mine when I sent them, but it hold them and makes them thin enough to be posted as a letter.

Now I take out the cd.

Ooh, there's actually two, and a mysterious paper. (I put both my discs in a single jewel case) Hey, the dics are black, awesome.

Wow, it looks like a lot of work went into these.

Heh, "Rapestry". I am looking at tracklist now. I almost put Baby Got Back on my second disc, and Batman vs. Blackman. Looks good.. that is to say it looks funky fresh.

"TWANG, VIOLENCE, and Chicken".. interesting... Where have I seen this list before? Oh, right, in this thread. Really dig the cover art on both discs.

Mysterious paper appears to be some kind on envelope. Inside I find "NOTES" and (I don't know if I'm supposed to mention this) $10USD. Your money is so much cooler than my money.

I'm going to urinate. brb (do I need to type that?)

Ok, I am back from urinating.

Most of first disc is new to me, part of the second is. Cody Chestnutt is a fucking playa. (no your rap isn't too LAME, your rap is too INSANE) (get it? it rhymes like rap!)

I am putting TWANG in my dvd, that way I get the best quality and the loudest loud.

01. Hen House
This works really good as an intro, I love animal noises.

02. The Autumn Wind--NFL FILMS (feat. John "The Voice of God" Facenda)
This sounds like something a cartoon rabbit would get shot at too. Dig it.

dcom. Black Eye--UNCLE TUPELO
ME! ME! ME! I love the guitar in this.

04. Delia's Gone--JOHNNY CASH
IS THIS ABOUT NECROPHELIA??!? Man I didn't know this guy was so fucked up.

05. Rebel Rouser--DUANE EDDY
Canyonero...

06. Violet--HOLE
I remember I used to hate this a lot. ... I don't hate it anymore.

(learntosinglearntosinglearntosingplease)

07. Henry Lee--NICK CAVE with PJ HARVEY

08. Boo Boo Stick Beat--CHET ATKINS
YESYESYESYESYESYES!!!! A car company needs to pick this up to use in their ads. It's perfect!

09. Bodies--DROWNING POOL
This was I think the Survivor Series 2001 (wrestling) theme. Made me buy a drowning pool cd I played like three times. SCREW YOU HIPPIES!!! Wait.. one's dead, I have to pretend to like them. Pimp song tho.

10. Drawing Flies--SOUNDGARDEN

evil. Am I Evil?--METALLICA
d get's a longer song than me... I'm a loser so I like this over most of Metallica.

12. KFC March--THE SUNRAYS
The greatest song in the history of fried chicken.

13. Where's The Colonel?--FAMILY GUY (Peter)
More fried chicken. rock.

14. Bantam Roosters
I still love animal noises.

15. L.A. County--LYLE LOVETT
"Fuck Lyle Lovett whoever the fuck that is" I don't agree with that statement.

16. Goodbye Earl--DIXIE CHICKS

kitty. Little Fury--THE BREEDERS
kitty's is longer than mine too.. (that sounds bad)

jes. The Gift--VELVET UNDERGROUND
Jes get's the longest. I get the shortest, which is also good I guess.

19. Punk China Doll--JOHN ZORN
This would be great to rap over.

20. NY Flat Top Box--JOHN ZORN
This guy is now officially my hero.

21. Cocaine Blues--JOHNNY CASH
WHAT THE HELL IS THIS GUY'S PROBLEM?!?? I thought he was just an old dude, but it turns out he's a drug addict hooker killer. I can dig it.

22. My Big Fat Baby--FAMILY GUY (Stewie and The Cowtones)
funneh

23. Knoxville Girl--LOUVIN BROTHERS

24. Rumble--LINK WRAY and his WRAY-MEN
DIG

25. Old Dan Tucker-THE DEZURIK (CACKLE) SISTERS
ANIMAL NOISES AGAIN!!!! <3

26. King Of Fuh--BRUTE FORCE
Good note to end one.

Now Rapestry.

01. Recorded Sounds--FRED ROGERS
:D

02. Rapper's Delight--THE SUGARHILL GANG
THIS ISN'T A RAPPING GRANY OR A RAPPING TALKING HORSE!!!

10. Baby Got Back--SIR MIX-A-LOT
I almost put this on my second disc

12. Batman vs. Blackman--CODY CHESTNUTT
This too. Just because of Batman. (it doesn't fit on my second disc either)

17. Fight The Power--PUBLIC ENEMY
I made a series about this a few months ago. FIGHT THE POWER!!

18. Different Sounds--FRED ROGERS
:D again

Favourite tracks:

TWANG:

02. The Autumn Wind--NFL FILMS
dcom. Black Eye--UNCLE TUPELO
08. Boo Boo Stick Beat--CHET ATKINS
evil. Am I Evil?--METALLICA
12. KFC March--THE SUNRAYS
21. Cocaine Blues--JOHNNY CASH

RAPESTRY:

02. Rapper's Delight--THE SUGARHILL GANG
03. The Message--GRANDMASTER FLASH AND THE FURIOUS FIVE
09. Shake Your Rump--BEASTIE BOYS
21. Bitch, I'm Broke--CODY CHESTNUTT

awesome umfum

Just posting to say that I've gotten discs from umfumdisi and dcomposed. I want to listen to them a few times before I post reactions, so it probably won't be at least until the weekend.

I burned a first test copy of my disc tonight and will review it tomorrow at work. One of the tracks came out staticky, and I'm not sure how to fix that, so I may have to do some revision of the list. If you're lucky, I'll get to the post office sometime this week. If not, probably next week.
