New stuff I stuck into the forums:

  • I put the new forum code help back in because I accidentally deleted it because I am retarded. You can read it here: http://www.stripcreator.com/forums/help/index.html

  • There are now 'comics' and 'homepage' buttons underneath your forum posts. If you don't have any comics or your homepage isn't set to anything, the buttons don't show up.

  • Your total comics are now shown under your total posts.

  • In the thread/topic lists, if you click on the ugly purple dot that denotes that there are new messages in a thread, you'll be magically transported to the first new message on that thread. The anchor thing I'm using seems to be kind of moody and sometimes you're put slightly above the first new post instead of right on it. I think that's some sort of wack browser issue.

  • New messages are now denoted by a faint (new) beside the post date.

  • The forum jump box is now on the bottom of the thread display page.

  • I think I managed to speed a few other things up but I can't remember what they are. If you notice them, feel free to talk about it like it's really awesome.

This is a nice feature, but the wording is confusing. I saw "quote", "comics", and "homepage" right next to each other, and thought "Oh, I entered a quote and my homepage address in my profile, and my comics are listed there too." Then I clicked "quote" and realized that it was the link to quote the text of that particular post in a new one. Possible solutions... change the link text to "quote this message" instead of just "quote"? Give more space to the separation between the "quote" link and the "comics" and "homepage" links?

I think so too. IE is bad about that. Don't go crazy trying to fix it, because you probably can't.

I can right justify the comics/homepage links. Hmm, I'll play around with it later on this evening and see what works.

I also just fixed that stupid narration issue. It limits you to 200 characters in the narration fields now instead of just truncating it. The word truncate is cool.

How about you just change the word to "Reply"?
