I'm sorry dude, but really, nobody does care about ragnorok online. It would've been funny otherwise! (I'm trying not to flame you as much as they did)

I'm am NOT by any means the expert on this, being a not so funny n00b myself, but try reading a few other comics before making your own... you'll get a better sense of the type of humor.

It is okay to make a comic about an online game. I used to play a particular online game *cough Graal cough* and the freaks that would populate the servers were very entertaining.

I'm not an expert on comics by any means (mine suck...I'm surprised I even have a 2 star rating) but people need to be able to relate on some degree to the chars. All ya gotta do is watch dumb behavior, read other people's comics to learn by (not mine...mine are a very very poor example), and throw the two together. Also, there is such a thing as too much randomness.

yeah, i'd have to say that's the quote of the day. start off simple. just to get your feet wet, keep everything standard except one element, whether that element is a character, a setting, a panel (usually the last panel). if your favorite comics are the really really weird stuff, then try to figure out how they did it. usually there's some grounding force that allows the reader to relate the comic to something the reader already knows-- even in the truly far-out wacky ones.

of course, i ain't no expert either. so, don't rely on what i'm saying. go read as many as you can and figure it out for yourself. you'll get it.

My big problem is the "n00b" bashing actually. That's why I replied the way I did. I hate the word and people who use it. Everyone is new at one point or another, and people in any online environment (websites, games, whatever) that start bashing new people are no help to the community. Sure, it's funny seeing people make dumb mistakes, but maybe if you'd help instead of criticize, they'd appreciate it and maybe even become a buddy.

My favorite part of all of this is when I'm called a "n00b" by a prepubescent and then end up becoming much better at the game than they are. Some kids are just such big losers that they must resort to the bashing to make themselves feel better after getting their asses beat in real life.

Anyway yeah, it's just a point I'm strong on. I've always believed in helping others, whether I was new to a community or a grizzled vet. There's no reason to be an ass.
