I'm sure some of you will remember sometime during my early years on stripcreator when i posted my anger towards the totally-wrong list of the 50 worst bands of all time in Blender Magazine. Well, I've found a worser one:

http://www.nothing-sacred.net/articles/033/

What are these fuckheads smoking? And where can I get some? If you've found a worst band list you think can top this disaster, post it here!

Not to say that I agree with the list, but I am burnt out on the whole "Classic Rock" genre that many of these guys fall into. After I've heard a Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd song about 80,000 times or so, it starts to lose some of its charm. It's sad to think of all the new bands that go unheard while the local arm of Conglomo Media tries to keep us "Comfortably Numb" with the same stuff we've been listening too for almost a generation now.

I guess that has nothing to do with the accuracy of the list, except that I'm not really as bothered to hear somebody harshing on Floyd as I might have been 15 years ago.

I was never a big fan of Dylan, and Limp Bizkit definitely belongs there, but just about everyone else didn't belong there.

I hope to hell that list is a joke, otherwise this guy is a fucking moron.

The only band that deserved to be on that list is Limp Bizkit.

Yeah, I think Mikey's got it. I had the misfortune of seeing them live once (opening for Rush). Awful, awful, awful, awful, awful...

That said, I'd also like to nominate Sugar Ray. If for nothing else, then for Mark McGrath's "annoying drunk frat boy who commandeers the mic and demands to sing Louie Louie" voice...

Yeah, I'm going to second the Sugar Ray nomination. Besides the voice, there are the nonsensical, pseudointellectual lyrics. Add to that his sneering, leering, rat-face and I hate 'em. Yuck do I hate 'em.

And yes, I AM jealous that a spike-headed assmouth like Mark McGrath is considered good-looking by the ladies.

One of the most pretentious, yes. But I kinda like some of the music. But, as I am wont to do, I prefer the ultra-slick keyboardy stuff they did in the 80s... y'know, the stuff most of their fans hate...

*cracks knuckles*...Good thing this thread is in FGH.

Rush is the best band EVER, IMO.

And actually UE, most of us hardcore Rush fans don't hate the keyboard era, it's just we prefer the older stuff (2112, Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures, etc). Personally, I think Hold Your Fire is a wonderful album.

As for the list...Limp Triscuit is the only band who deserves to be there, although I agree with his assessment that Kiss isn't very talented musically. However, they aren't that bad to warrant being on any worst band list.

I'm guessing that the author is probably a punk fanboy, which pretty much shoots down any kind of credibility he may think he has as far as judging music goes. He should've just said, "This is MY list of Top 10 worst bands." instead of, "I'm going to set in stone the Top Ten Worst Bands of All Time so you see what you should not be buying."

I think this guy considers himself a rebel for hating what the masses like - but sometimes the masses like things for a reason. I'll admit that much popular music is crap, but for the most part this guy is just insulting the popular bands that actually hold some musical merit. And some of his arguments don't make sense; did he say that Hendrix can't play the guitar?

Who is this person?

Rush is technically accomplished, sure. But have you noticed that almost no woman on Earth can listen to them? Something about women's hearing range and those high-pitched screechy vocals?

Journey sure sucked a fat one. Horrible material, bloated, bottom-heavy, plodding arrangement and production. And I think Steve Perry was a great vocalist. What a waste.

Contrastingly, Led Zeppelin is a great band which is mostly ruined for me by Robert Plant's vocals. Sure, terrific pipes, but the stylings make my skin crawl.

Same goes for U2. Bono: Stop moaning, you prick.

As for bands that have been popular but that I can attest were simply awful, the Goo-Goo Dolls come to mind. Saw them live. Not so much a performance as a barrage of undifferentiated noise. Zero talent on that stage.

I hate Rush's meandering guitar/keyboard riffs. Gwen Stefani sounds like that three-year-old who sings and whines at the same time. Candlebox, the fucking lead singer is TONE DEAF! I never liked P.O.D., but their songs used to have cohesion. Now it's just the lead singer screaming shit repeatedly over some mediocre-at-best baselines and guitar riffs. I love Zeppelin, and even RObert Plant's glass-breaking screeches can't take away from their awesomeness. But there is one band that has always gotten under my skin:

Van Halen. Back when it was David Lee Roth, and every time I hear him, my nads flip over and suck up into my stomach. When he does his patented little 'screechy' thing, I want to pop him in the face with a fucking mike stand. Spammy Hagar was just meh and everything else afterwards was pure eructation. Their music itself is decent, but by no means great. I hate them.

I am living proof that you're wrong. I grew up listening to bands such as Rush, and so we listen to them on a regular basis at my house, and on my own I've been known to have a few of their songs on burned CD's.

I love Rush because they're one of the few who actually have something called MUSICAL TALENT which most bands nowadays dont have if you've noticed. BTW: those are high-pitched vocals, but not screechy, Boorite...

Exactly why when my father gave me that CD for christmas, I listened to maybe... a minute of the first song and then gave it to someone at school who actually liked No Doubt.

My tastes are pretty varied...but there are some that I just can't stand:

I hate boy bands. I hate brittany fearz and pop in general.

Most punk sounds like crap to me. It sounds like a bunch of noise and offkey singing. I cant get past that to actually listen to it.

Metallica started to suck greatly after cutting their hair.

Blink 182 should blink off somewhere else.

And while I'm at it... Mozart is a hack. Beethoven so kicks his ass.

Actually I thought that Load was a damn fine rock album. It was completely un-Metallica-like, but once I got over the surprise I found the album growing on me greatly.

Reload, on the other hand, was a dreary attempt bring back the old fanbase.

I've only heard one of the songs on St. Anger, and wasn't impressed. So perhaps by now the haircut induced suckiness has truly set in.

I've also only heard one track from St.Anger, and I must say I did not like it at all. Not that I've ever been a big Metallica fan, but that St.Anger song really was crap. It sort of sounds like they were trying to ride the Linkin Park bandwagon (who also suck).

St. Anger is a huge attempt at bringing back the old fanbase. HUGE. They attempted to get some of the thrash back in their 'music'. Metallica sucks. Load blew. When people started listening to Lars Ulrich is where the problem began.
