Is that a reference to Andrew "Dice" Clay? Holy shit, is that outdated. I'm curious if anyone else even remembers who he is.

And Monty Python is pretty damned popular in America. I just don't think the joke quite made it.

He has a point though. THOSE LIMEY BASTARDS RUINED HUMOR.

Nah. I disagree with not_Sycess. It's a clever and astute strip, if not a laugh-inducing one. It's true that a lot of Americans just don't get the brilliance of English comedies like Faulty Towers and Monty Python, instead preferring the grating laugh-tracks of unintelligent crap like 'Yes Dear' and the string of expletives that Martin Lawrence spills out whenever he opens his mouth. Says something about our culture, no?

Don't forget, though, that the British also laugh at a lot of total fucking crap. And Monty Python has been quite well-received by America over the years.

Well recieved by the fringes, but not the masses. Monty Python has indeed found a niche market in America for people who get their humor. I like to call them "intelligent". But the bulk of America still just scratches their collective head, say "huh?" and switch the channel to 'According to Jim' or that stupid fucking talking baby show.

Don't forget, though, that the British love American shows like "Baywatch" and "Dallas."

Oh, no doubt there's stupid Brits as well. Hell, their royal family is composed of people so inbred they would put the entire state of Alabama to shame.

But surely you agree the Andrew "Dice" Clay reference was completely outdated? I mean, DAMN.

I know some who don't like Fawlty Towers, but I don't know anyone personally who doesn't like Monty Python. Is my entire social circle on the "fringe"?

Also, it must be noted, that the Monty Python players may be brilliant, but it's hardly highbrow humor. It just seems that way because of the accents.

I know a few people who dislike Monty Python, but I think what people dislike more are fans who spend two hours quoting every line from Holy Grail.

People quoting other people are lame people.

I'm sure if Dr. Dre was alive today, he'd be saying: "Fuck y'all. All of y'all."

Python was never laugh out loud funny. Never.

I laugh out loud at both Monty Python and Andrew Dice Clay.
