Brad's been contemplating ways to get more voting. A few recent changes helped increase the number of comics in toprated and that has helped remind donors of the voting feature when they casually read strips on the site. Here's my idea:

Have a page set up like a "hotornot" site that generates random donor comics. When the vote is submitted, it automatically generates a new random donor comic. Keep the layout simple like the random.php or sets layout--i.e., eliminate the user profile box.

Why donor comics? 1) The good-to-bad ratio is more tolerable; 2) It may cause more users to donate; 3) We can already do this via the random.php for all 280,000 comics on the site--limiting it to donor comics will make it more manageable; finally, and most importantly, 4) I want to read more non-donor posts complaining about the cliquishness among donors.

I had another idea, but waking up an hour earlier this morning has affected my congnitive abilities, so I'll post it when I remember it again for the first time.

Now if only there were a button on the random.php page to turn donorsonly on and off so we didn't have to remember the link, it would be perfect.

Actually, to do chooby's idea we could add another variable:

donorsonly=1&user=choobychooby

So you could seek random comics from a particular user. I don't know how userful that would be, but it shouldn't be hard to do.
