either i cant find it or it's been deleted, one of my comics is missing the background aswell

I can't explain the disappearance from your comic, but look under "plane" section one of the background dropdown.

I renamed the backgrounds "airplane1" to "plane" and "america" to "flag-america" recently. The only way I could see it disappearing is if you went to edit a comic with one of those backgrounds in it, when you re-save it may clear the background. You'll have to set it to "plane" instead.
