I know HTML can often be a pain in the ass and is probably more trouble than it's worth, but would it be at all feasible to have the codes enabled in comics to let us turn text into symbols? A few of them would really come in handy. (Musical notes, hearts, etc.)

HTML entities are your friend...

♥ (?) gives you a heart and ♪ is supposed to give a musical note though that doesn't work for me in Safari.

It looked fine in the preview :-/

Well you have to type a & and hearts and a semicolon

If you use numerical codes, they should work. Here's a list:

I've seen people use entities in their comics and I don't think I'm stripping them.

here's a list some more, but i haven't tried them out yet. dont bother with the color or size tags, it gets taken out when the comic saves

Ah, yes. I see. I must have been trying a different coding system.
Thanks.

You can get a lot more from your character map:

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map

This will bring up a list of characters available to different fonts that you can copy/paste into comics. Not all fonts work, but there are a lot that do, and some of them also create strange effects (like creating empty space before the text).

Black people don't sing Meatloaf. Which is why there will never truly be racial equality.

The point is, I think stuff like this should be put in a sticky thread, because it just took me 20 minutes to find this thread so I could copy and paste the music note into a comic. If someone put all the useable ascii doodads into a sticky post, stupid people like me could copy and paste and pretend we're cool.
