Sounds like a good idea, especially if a system that added the number of views that a comic got on a certain thread, too.

like seperatly or added onto the count?

he could just impliment the code within each comic, then no matter where it is viewed on the website it'd get a view added onto it.

I think they should have like a counter that showed WHO viewed it as well as how many views. either/or is fine.

I've seen forums where you can see how many times a thread has been viewed as well as how many cmments it received. That would be a nice feature to have. That way the next time I make an epic 17 part series and it gets 0 comments at least I'll fell better knowing that 6 people viewed the thread.
