For the purposes of some earlier strips , i referred to Clango as "PBOT".

That said , anyone voting against Tobor deserves the reaming thats coming their way. I vote Tobor.

As quality as Clango can be, you just can't say no to Tobor. Simply for the cornholing factor.

I understand where you are coming from, but in this series of strips I hope to deconstruct the assumptions made about TOBOR by high school level educated minds.

Let's see... I am one of the least-educated on here, about to finish the second year of my BA, double major in linguistics and philosophy. Kaufman is forty-ish, a professor (or was that doctor?) of Brain Hurting Stuff. We have physicists, mathematicians, all kinds on here. We also have a wanker who goes by the name of "wenisinfurs", which I can only assume is a Swahili word meaning "pathetic hypocrite who leaps to incorrect but self-gratifying conclusions about people he knows nothing about". Was I close?

I meant on the forums, not amongst the teeming morons who drop in for a brief bout of stupidity before flitting off again to spread their stupidity around.

Now, now, there's no need to feed the trolls. Listen to him: "deconstruct the assumptions made about TOBOR by high school level educated minds"? I mean, who says that? First of all, the Tobor character is (not counting the art) the creation of the SC users, so we haven't "made any assumptions" about him for the same reason Shakespeare didn't "make any assumptions" about Juliet. Second, anyone as intelligent as he claims to be would probably be skeptical of the idea that any mind has ever been educated by a high school level. Third, "deconstruct"? This isn't philosophy. He's just using a fifty-cent word when a ten-cent one would be more appropriate. Raise your hand if you're impressed.

The intelligence and education level of this site's users has been well-documented elsewhere, it's probably above average for an internet community these days, and there's no reason for us to feel insecure about it. Especially not if the assaults upon it are of this caliber. And if we're also unpretentious enough to be able to laugh at low comedy, my opinion is that that's just one more point in our favor.

Yeah, right. If he'd bothered to do any research, he'd have known that the real Juliet was deathly afraid of heights, and wouldn't have gone near that balcony. Not only that, she was in public a radical lesbofeminist who wouldn't dare be caught getting hot and heavy with anyone of the male persuasion. That was the real reason they wanted to hush things up, forget all that family feud hogwash.

Shakespeare did get Romeo right, though; he was a dead ringer in every way for Leonardo DiCaprio.

Ha Ha! Made you think!
:}

Though I will admit I am getting the hang of making assumptions here since so many have been made about me.
I get to be psuedo and intellectual! Great place!

You acted like an arsehole, so I assumed you were an arsehole. *shrug* Far less rash than your assumption that we are all giggling high school kids.

*rolls eyes* Pseudo is not a word - it is a prefix. I don't have a dictionary in front of me, but as far as I know, it means "approximate" or "similar to", as in "pseudocode", something which is like computer programming code, but more like English.

Wait on, just checked the dictionary - it's Greek, and translates literally to mean "false". So, even if you had meant to write "pseudo-intellectual" you would have indicated that you possess a false intellect.

In that case, fair enough.

Hmmmmm.... you came in here, telling a bunch of strangers they were all juvenile, I pointed out that this is the behaviour of an arsehole... Nope, sorry, I still think you're the arsehole.

...oh, and I trust you have the spelling, semantics, and syntax of "pseudo-" sorted out now.

October 11, 2001 9:35 AM

Hello!

My name is DH-01! And if you've read my stuff, you'll know that I, at least, SEEM extremely juvenile... and I kinda am... but you SEE...

There's not, y'know, rule that says we hafta be mature here. Note I said 'mature' and not 'tactful'. This whole shebang's just a fun way to let off steam and fantasize about giant red robots cornholing pink donkeys... let's not turn it into, y'know, a soapbox for preaching about maturity and schmitt like that.

I don't know you too well. But so far, ye gots a strke against ya. Learn a bit more tact, and also when to let something go, and you'll be in the One's good graces.

... continue to tread the path you do, and... hehheh...
