To get COMMENTS on his freaking comics?
What is it now... my wordy style is too much to read in one sitting?
My informative-and-comical approach is too much of a one-two punch to handle on a regular basis?
My anti-insignificance (and therefore always striving to be meaningful) style does not... please?
My jokes go simply by you...?
You sense, somehow, judging from my vocabulary on display, that I am not from thy generation... crowd... or whatever?!?

Hmm...

Whatever it is, it simply boggles the mind that I have been here and done over 300 comics... and NOT A VOTE... NOT A COMMENT... is to be found on my "info".

While Countess, my girl, did 4 OF THEM - FOUR - and she got a flurry of comments (even advice) and a vote turnout...

Of course, I do not NEED the comments... and now, I expect that if I get it, it will be truly virulent... however, I had it in me and it had to come out!

Ostracism HERE is really... silly!

C'mon now. You know what you have to do, so get to it.

Seriously though, you need to post more on the forums. According to your info, you have made exactly 6 posts on the forums, 3 in this thread alone. That is why you had no comments or votes on your work, because no one knows who you are.

I found that one to be absolutely hilarious and rated you good on the merits of this strip alone. You shouldn't whine for people to comment and then whine when people have nothing nice to say. I didn't find your comics funny. You wanted a comment, there it is. They were not funny to me as an individual. Maybe someone else will find them amusing, I however, did not. So be happy you got the comments, thats what you were looking for anyway.

Sheesh, Crabby... you call for labeling... you judge 300+ comics based upon an erroneous impression of ONE SINGLE STRIP...

My conclusion is: you will NEVER be on the American Idol panel.

Stripcreations -note the terminology, I didn't say "comics"- can be much more than toilet humor...

"Comic-BOOKS" got that misnomer because they were strictly funny animals at first...

Ask Frank Miller if that's all they are good for... hmm?

You're really trying to expand the readers horizons. Ah... no.

I branch out.

This is an example of dark humour / satire with bite... and also my favored weapon - sarcasm!

I can't believe the rating system here... I am clearly 3 or 4 star material... yet Countess with four very sub-par strips (by her own admission) has a better score than me?

Note -again, I need to ask for scrutiny and a discerning eye- that I am underlining injustice and not merely "whining"... and it is about the RATING SYSTEM... not any so-called comments...

I don't NEED to explain each strip - it is obvious when they are humorous and when they are not... and different styles and approaches should be recognized as well!

Also, IMHO, posting the strips here is repetitious... and maybe a waste of bandwidth too, when a link would do just fine.

You need to advertise, because unless you post your comics for the stripcreator world to see, how else will anyone know about your comics to rate you? I hope you're not relying on the 20 latest comics by non-donors list on the front page to get you noticed, because the turnover is so great. Unless you make comics in the middle of the night, expect your stuff to get bumped off the front page within an hour or two.

Also, you might want to lose that chip on your shoulder if you wish to endear yourself to the rest of us here, because that will affect your rating, like it or not.

Now, on to your comics...

You've got a few good ones, but I found a lot of them to be way too wordy and without actual punchlines. In fact, a few that I read looked like they would've been better served as blog posts...not exactly conducive to comic creation. Personally, I don't like having to read through an over the top monologue/rant without some kind of payoff at the end. I really didn't care for the excessive usage of exclamation points either, it makes the comics look like they were made by Ann Coulter. Also, lose the narration unless it is absolutely critical to the comic. Overall, you certainly have potential.

And

No - I am not a politician... I am not into popularity contests... couldn't care less what people think of me... hence the nod to sarcasm as my favored weapon... I was expecting fair judging, especially of my 200 most recent strips... I guess I got that now...

Frankly, are these 5 just not curious enough to simply CLICK on the ONLY stripcreator that Countess lists in her "Favorites" category...?
Guess who it is... ME.

I truly didn't NEED to ask for the "honor" to be dignified with ratings & comments... enquiring minds should have been able to "discover" me - through Countess! See who INSPIRES Countess!

And, in closing, IMHO thy ratings system being a "popularity vote" instead of a quality vote for the stripcreations themselves... well, that's just not the way it should be! Just my opinion...

I didn't really feel like reading this whole thread so I'm just quoting your most recent post and replying to it.

Most of us don't go out looking for other strippers, and if we do, we hit random or see who is online. Most of the time we don't bother with peoples' favorites because we have to click the info link just to see the favorites list. As for myself, I only hit the info link to get info about the comic creator - go figure.

I read your comics. That's all I'm going to say about that because, from glancing over other posts, it is apparently not okay for us to judge them in any way other than what you have determined is acceptable for us to judge them. If we find something humorous that you didn't intend for us to find humorous, then we are completely wrong. There's just not room here for that kind of attitude. You asked for comments, people kindly provided you with their thoughts on your comics, and you ridicule them.

Countess asked for commentary, I am sure. And she probably didn't bitch people out for their comments. Maybe you could learn from the person you're listing as an example here. And I'm not so sure Countess would appriciate you listing her as a reference given your attitude. I know I wouldn't defend anyone on my favorites list if that were the case.

I think you need to see a doctor about getting your head out of your ass.

Class? Class? What the hell is that? Look, I read your comics. Some made me chuckle, and others are hilarious. However, the wit and evolved humor you're whoring to us is the cheif reason that more than half of your stuff doesn't appeal to me. You dip too far into the mind pool! If we wanted a long, witty comical paragraph to read, we'd subscribe to The Onion. The comics here don't all aim for the lowest denominator, they aim at 1. Having some fun, B. Letting us vent, and @. Letting others see our creative flair. Most of us are intelligent and nice people. You should try that sometime.

Oh-Oh...."Damn" is an expletive!

1 a : a syllable, word, or phrase inserted to fill a vacancy (as in a sentence or a metrical line) without adding to the sense; especially : a word (as it in "make it clear which you prefer") that occupies the position of the subject or object of a verb in normal English word order and anticipates a subsequent word or phrase that supplies the needed meaningful content b : an exclamatory word or phrase; especially : one that is obscene or profane.

If it was centered on the strips, it would make sense.
The popularity of the faceless stripcreator... that makes little or no sense.

Countess did NOT ask for commentary - she calls herself a "post whore" - and so, she saw a forum - SHE HAD TO POST ON IT!

I am whoring evolved humor - indeed.
I am therefore not catering to the common denominator

The point I made, had you actually read what I had wrote was any and all judgements that have been and will be made about your strips will be therefore judged by you. You make it impossible for anyone to share their opinion without sharing it and completely ignoring this thread. If someone's opinion of your strip isn't the idea you were trying to convey in your strip, you mock and/or scold them for not seeing things YOUR way. So why should we offer our judgement if you're going to get your panties in a bunch because it's not the way YOU see it? If someone offers a comment, accept it for what it is, don't turn around and say they're wrong for thinking the way they do. Not a great way to make friends. Is that clear enough for you or are you going to make another post about how I abandoned all recognizable clarity?

quote:
and keep the expletives for your DAMN COMICS

I love expletives. Without them, I'd be a snooty snob such as yourself who seems to think by adding a few vocabulary words to post on the internet, it will make them seem smarter or supreme in some way. I'm FUCKING proud to not be a pretentious BITCH who mocks those who aren't exactly like her. Therefore I will use curse words in my comics and in my posts because the people who are offended by it will stop reading my comics and my posts. They obviously wouldn't understand me anyway.

quote:
Blatant lie too... I see a biased comment now on my freaking info... Just like crabby... you jump the gun without all the facts...

Oh a blatant lie, eh? You are standing over my shoulder now, watching to see whether or not I read your comics? And how do you know that I read them, how do you know I'm even literate? Maybe I just looked at the pretty pictures because you obviously think that we all bathe in our own drool all day or something. My comment was "Your comics appeal to a very limited audience", which is true. Look at most of the posts in this thread. Your comics are lengthy, often use narration, touch on subjects that some people dislike discussing such as politics and religion, and they don't have punchlines. I realize that's not the style you're going for, but that's the style that is dominantly accepted by the regular users on this website. Therefore your comics do not appeal to that audience, they appeal to a limited few who actually care to wade through the mass of vocabulary words you found on your word-of-the-day toilet paper and decided to use. I think that your idea for "On this day" comics are interesting, but the comics themselves do not appeal to me, only to a select few. Again, I have to ask if I have failed to provide you with clarity on that subject, because I feel like I am wasting my time even noticing your existence.

Oh, and I'd replace the roll in the bathroom, judging by your use of "freaking" I think you may have gotten to the Super-slang-word-of-the-month core.

Actually, you 'predicted' virulent behavior correctly, because you seem to be antagonizing people and then brow beating them.

Sort of like predicting you will get a stampede to the front door by yelling "FIRE" at a party.

Keep Making Comics, but may I suggest constructively that you take advantage of the 'sets' option. Create one and call it "This one is for you to say how smart I am" and then another you can call it "This one is for you to say how much better I am, than the others here"

That way we will know what comment you expected us to make about each one.

That could be why she got a lot of feedback right from the start. Almost makes me wish I had enough cash to plunk down for that sex change op.
