My apologies (not really sincere, though) if this has already been talked about...

Have you tried Urban Dead (www.urbandead.com)? For those that don't know, it's a MMPORPLMAOOMGWTFG where online users are either zombies or human survivors battling against each other. I just added a human (Dr Deadmeat) and two zombies (Brains Mmmgoodfood and Dorquemada).

I think SC needs a posse if it doesn't already have one. Dr Deadmeat is currently with another group but would leave them like yesterday's whore for an SC team.

P.S. I tried to register TOBOR as a zombie but the name was already taken, so I assume at least one of you is already in there.

I think I saw a link to that on in4mador awhile back. It was fun for about 5 minutes until I realized that nothing ever happened. Ever.

Maybe its better now.

Maybe that was when it was new. There are 200k+ users in there now. In the span of 30 minutes I killed two humans with my zombies and then one of them got killed. Good times.

I've been on there since about September. If you're on one of the outlying areas, there are fewer users. Mostly, there are zombies in the middle of town and humans around the edge of that zombie center.

Having played for as long as I have, I can say that in general there are a lot more humans than zombies, and even though the current numbers indicate that it's close to an even split, the fact is that many of those zombies are just standing around and saying "Mrrh," hoping someone will revive them.

I think it would be a more fun game if folks would just play like it's... you know... a zombie game instead of a war sim where you pick a team and try to stick with it.

Brains Mmmgoodfood needs to be revived? I didn't know that. I figured zombies would just regenerate. Suckitude.

You misunderstand.

When I say they're waiting for a revive, I mean that the zombies who are standing around saying "Mrrh?" are all people who would rather be playing as a human, and so they're standing around trying to look nonthreatening in hopes that a human will stick them with a revivifying needle.

If your zombie gets killed and you want to keep playing as a zombie, all you have to do is click "stand up."

15 if you were headshot, yes. "Ankle Grab" and "Lurching Gait" will help with that a lot.

You should be glad you didn't join when headshot removed ALL your XP. At least it didn't drain levels, but when enough survivors started getting it, zombies eventually stopped leveling. Even with repeated adjustments to how many XP it would steal, the fact that more people play humans than zombies eventually meant that there were more people with headshot than zombies *period*.

After a while, you can judge for yourself whether you'd rather lose XP or AP to headshot.

Also, for you zombie people, nobody can see your username. On the map, all zombies are just "a zombie." The only way you can tell who's who is if you already have a zombie on your freind list, and then in the status window it will tell you that "you see X number of zombies here. You recognize ______ among them"

Mandingo, just try not to run out of AP out on the street. Get inside a building, preferably one with a door that closes, before you run out of them. Low level zombies cannot open a closed door.

You, as a human, can enter any building as long as it is not "heavily" barricaded. Yes, this means you can step over "strongly," "lightly," or "loosely" barricades.

You as a human can also search for items. You'll want to head to a police station to grab some bulletts and weapons, and a hospital to grab some first aid kits. I'll save you some grief and inform you that you can't really find anything just by searching outside. Mostly, valuable items are inside buildings. From there, you're on your own.

I made a zombie named Smellbad. I have no idea what I'm doing. I walked around and my turns ran out. Wheeboy.

I walked about, killed some random dude, then my turn ran out, someone stole my DNA (or something) then another guy hit me to death...well, kinda death, seeing as I'm already dead.

I've tried this. Its ok, if you like turn-based games. Not great...
I kept getting killed by random groups of people after my turns were over... I guess the human net.race is doomed in the realm of Urban Dead.

Useless information?:
I've also got a six degrees of separation-thing going on with the creator. A friend of his is a friend of my bro's. Thought that might be a little bit interesting to a few.

Myself and a few friends were playing for a while last year, we all humans. We got bored and started hunting the other humans. That was fun.

It's really difficult and frustrating to gather XP at first. I just got a zombie up to 2nd level and then he got randomly wasted by a passerby. My other zombie is so inept that he's now human. I have been assured that it gets much better after you accumulate a few skills, though.

I think the bar-none easiest way to gain XP as a zombie is to follow the groaning. The more recent the groan, the better. Aside from that, forming an organized horde that communicates via IRC or something seems to work. But so many people have the groan skill now that it's not really necissary to do the metagame thing anymore.

I got a gps unit from one of the necrotech facilities, and many other useful, and not too useful items, mostly I just sit in a pub and look for beer. Happy days.

I created a fire(cat) named Stimpy Muffin (I figure guys will be less likely to want to waste a chick) and I'm currently on level 3, wandering about, killin' zombies with my axe. It's more fun being a survivor than a zombie...
