So, dictionary.com defines rape as "The crime of forcing another person to submit to sex acts, especially sexual intercourse."
So here's my question; if you say something like, "Have sex with me or I swear to God I will rape you" to a person, and they acquiesce, have you raped them accidentally?
What if you add "only if you want to though, just whatever you feel like doing"?
How about instead, "I'd really like to become more intimate with you, but I don't want to ever pressure you into anything that you're not comfortable with...yet."
Or, "I love you for who you are on the inside, and I don't mean JUST the inside of your vagina, haha. So really though, I'd like to "do" you, and I hope that some day you're ready for that. I'll probably end up raping you anyway if that day never comes, just so you know."

Am I talking pure semantics here? Does the threat of eventual rape make any sex thereafter (barring apoligies or something) rape still?

Truth be told, rape was just the most provacative (read creepy) example of this sort of thing that I could think of. Blackmail is another. Would threatening to blackmail someone constitute blackmail? How specific would one have to be?

Seriously though. Don't rape anybody, intentionally or not.

Um. Ahem. Somebody should probably delete this thread.

But what if she was begging for it? Like, literally? Like she was saying:

"Please rape me!"

Could she then later go to the cops and say that you raped her? What would your defense be? "Well yeah, she asked for it."

Then that wouldn't be rape! It would be violent consensual sex. Fantasy rape; which I'm sure has a thriving webring.

In most cases they believe whatever the victim claims, provided it can be backed up with some sort of evidence (DNA and whatnot), unless there's proof to the contrary.

There was an example of this in Aus early last year, when a woman screwed four players from my football team in one sitting, then later tried to claim rape to get a payout. In the end they proved that the woman had consented to numerous similar acts in the past so they all got off (excuse the pun), and later the DNA evidence came in that one of them hadn't even touched her. Until the last minute all four players were looking at a jail sentence.

we need a stripcreator character called 'Rape Ape'

He would basically be like Grape ape mixed with Chewbacca.

If you wonder if there is a fetish for anything, consensual rape or people fucking chewbacca, just do a google.

Uh... that's the part where most of us would have photoshopped over the dirty parts, or made a link with a warning. It's in "general discussion", guy. :/

Yes, the one without pictures of big veiny wookiee dicks. Until you came along, of course.

Thanks! you gave me a neat comic premise. Some one who logs into a forum from work, talks about rape, but feels its okay, as long as the pictures of dicks and asses are covered by black marks.

Lets notify Dilbert!

No, on purpose.

I think what you have here is a kind of "performative contradiction," like "I am not speaking."

The perspective is a bit off, the cock looks like it's growing out of Chewbacca's left leg.

Unless that's normal for Wookies.

I know, and look at Leia's neck. what kind of neck is that? And her face looks kind of flat. The shading isn't very good on that part of her body. And the positioning of her eyes and lips are just atrocious. They mar an otherwise excellent figure drawing.

There was an HBO movie a while back about two Mexican fugitives that kidnap two upper middle class white kids, and one of the white kids is wearing a shirt that says, "Rape me." Then the Mexicans rape them. And the girl wearing the shirt fights back. I don't get it.

but what if prior to the raping, you make the rapee sign a legally binding contract that states she will not press any charges against you and that this contract was not signed under duress? or what if it's a child which can't speak yet so you say "keep breathing if you want me to rape your sweet sweet child ass"? or what if a new book of the bible is found which shows the bible scripture to actually be "let ye without childrape know-how cast the first stone"

Such a contract cannot be legally binding: If the contract provides for no consideration owed to the rapee by the rapist, then it is not a binding contract; if the contract provides for consideration, then its object is prostitution, which is illegal in your jurisdiction, and so the contract is not binding.

This is exactly the kind of conversation I was hoping for, though UnknownEric's comic presents similar concepts in a more tightly-collected, visually appealing package. (feel free to use the following as a signature, anyone, "Presents a tightly-collected, visually appealing package.")

To adress manschwingo's remaining two questions:

2)I'd like to say, "Awww! That's mean!", but we both know I'd really mean "Mmmmm..."

3)I think that a translation that modernized in its language would call into question the validity of this new book, if not the very Bible itself. It might be more believable to say "prowess" in place of "know-how", but that would perhaps lend it an even more disturbing meaning.

what if the consideration is no anal? what if the consideration is to grant her request for no consideration? what if you shoot her in the face with a cannon?

I don't think that any contract where a person consents to activity that would involve another person committing 1st Degree Murder upon them would absolve the murderer of any legal reasonsibility for the crime committed.

But what does that have to do with rape? Isn't that what we're all here for?
