I sometimes want to be able to read all my favorite strips that have been written by other people without having to dig around or search. Often, I find myself wanting to either remenisce, or show what I consider to be "the classics" to people I know who aren't familiar to Stripcreator, and sometimes that makes me want the ability to collect comic strips written by *any* author and put them into a group that can be linked to.

And sometimes I want people to give me a penny. Like, everyone in the US. I'd be so rich that I could have any woman or other object that I desire. I know that with your help I could have more pennies than I have space in my appartment. And then I would be crushed under the weight of my own greed, my blood trickling out from underneath the mountain of coinage.

And sometimes I want a pony.

I had been thinking about a way to let users view all the comics that they've voted "good" on.

But I guess you're thinking of something more like allowing users to create sets of other users' comics, right?

Yep, that's what I'm thinking of.

Like say, in your example of only "good" strips, I wouldn't be able to quickly show people a set of strips that includes Cowboy Physics, because I rated that one "okay." While I personally don't think it's the end-all of comedy, it is funny and it sparked a wave of other strips that are far funnier, and quite frankly none of them would be as funny if it weren't for CP.

But also, wouldn't your idea kind of requre the user to be logged in *as* the person who is calling up the list of "good" strips? What if I wanted to send the link to a friend? Would that still work?

And actually, why not allow the users to add their own comics to these sets. After all, a lot of us have done tag-team strips with other users and it would be a really handy way to make those tag team strips readable.

I like that penny idea.

The inherant problem with the penny idea is that it inevitably would cost more to ship the penny than it would to give me the penny in the first place.

It would make the USPS very happy, but my generous benefactors would be very sad when they realize that in order to make my dream come true that they would have to in fact pay 3600% more than they had bargained for.

What if it was a reused stamp that didn't have much ink on it and I slipped it by the postman (I've done this before in a stamp emergency)? Then I could afford to send you a DIME!

Hey, that's not only illegal, it's the right thing to do!

If people can send a penny, then they can send a dollar.

That brings to mind a better idea... how about cleansing the database of any comics with references to Cowboy Physics?

What if everyone sent you a little piece of a pony, then you could build your own?

As long as someone also sends him a stuffing fluffer. Just like at select Build-A-Bear Boutiques.

My only "favorite" strips here are ones that I've made.

one way to accomplish this under the current format might be to tweak the favorites list so it can link to any particular comic/set by the author, not just their homepage.

and you can already link to a favoritemore than once, so you could link to more than one of their comics/sets this way too

Or you could just put a link to my comics on everyone's page. That should make it easier for people to find their favorite comics.

I've got this sorta working, now I just have to fix up the adding and deleting comics from sets stuff (which will take care of another feature request at the same time.)
