Some mates and I made a mr-pixel animated short based on a comic I did called "Sample?" I'm pretty proud of it, especially considering that none of us are animators. Anyway, check it out, if you get the chance.

Woah, that was really cool.

What did you use flash to animate it?

Or did you flash an animator?

Either way I expect details

Wicked awesome! That ruled!
One piece of advice though... when recording, either spread a piece of pantyhose between your mouth and the mic, or, as I do it, speak across the top of the mic, rather than into it.
Otherwise, great job.

Yep, we used flash (or rather she used flash and I watched her do it and made suggestions). She didn't have a lot of experience with it so that made it more interesting. Also, we submitted it to Adultswim for their shorts contest, so she wasn't altogether pleased with the end result but we were under a deadline.

Yeah, I totally forgot to bring something to protect the mic and I have a big problem with plosives (particularly the P's, which sucks when the subject matter is pretzels). Another problem we ran into was the sound guy's daughter was aleep in the next room while we recorded, so we were whispering and yelling simultaniously (as in where I had to yell 'SAMMMMPPPLLLEEE').

Glad you laughed.

It was how I always imagined it... except Mr. Pixel's voice.

I considered doing his voice myself, but it seemed ego maniacal to being doing all those voices, so Chad did it.

my favorite scenes were when he was driving away from the sample guy who then goes and scream whispers "Sample" over the cliff, and also the framed pictures in his room which were of the three scenes we'd just seen 1001

and too bad there isn't an easy stop animation program for retards like us. we could start an animation forum :)

i was making the same one but using a different adiction. (the sugary goodness milk at the bottom of the cereal bowl you drink when all the cereal is gone.) but i gave it up when i killed off Bobby. without Bobby, it was just Jack, Chris, and breakfast cereal, and ain't no way i'm pulling that story off with anything less than an NC-17, and we all remember what happened to Showgirls.

Btw, yours are awesome too, of course. Meant to reply with that earlier (although you know I think that), but I was concerned about that whole thing about us getting pantsed and combusted. You know. :)

You're s'posed to get 300 "strokes" per frame, but I wasn't getting anywhere near that. I was running out of "strokes" just doing a drawing with like 10 lines in it. Then I noticed that whenever I held down the left button to draw, it was registering like 10 strokes a second, even when I wasn't making a line. That's when I wandered off.
