I don't know if it's just server mainenance, but around 6:00-8:00pm AEST (it's 6:55pm as I'm posting this) I've been noticing a lot of bugs (right now the homepage won't load, only the blue bar at the top, the rest is blank), things get very slow, and I often get the "Server Error Wuh Oh" message a lot.

It seems to have gotten a lot worse lately, which is why I'm reporting it. Sorry I don't have anthing more specific, but I haven't been keeping track of the details.

Is this intentional, or can anything be done with this?

I'm guessing it's just the rollover thingy when all the comic ratings on the top rated page reload or something.

I haven't been noticing it happening regularly (like every day), though there have been some server crashes lately.

I'm having some longstanding issues with the web server that I've been trying to figure out where the database suddenly overloads for seemingly no reason. It's been a total pain in the ass and is draining my life energy.

Feel free to email me any time you see the Database error message. If it's happening often and self-correcting I'd like to know.

Will do. It's not every day, but at least 2 or 3 times a week (maybe more, I'm not always on at that time, but there are days when it's fine). It does always seem to correct itself though.

Well, that might not be self-correcting. The server hangs and then I have to restart Apache. When that happens usually I'm running around swearing at the server and trying to log in despite it being overloaded.

I've got a few leads on what might be causing it, but it's hard to troubleshoot because I can't make it crash reliably to test it.

Ah.

I did notice a little slowing last night, but nothing major. The worst was that one comic took 10 seconds to save instead of the usual 1-2. That was 6:45pm (it's 1pm now).

It just went down again. Right as it went down I was making a comic, when the server came back the comic shows up in my comics, but the title isn't in thbe pull down menu, instead it shows up when it say's crabby's comics. I scroll down and back up and it still shows it, but it is listed as comic 0.

I actually am tracking down the source of this problem. Closer and closer.

Crabby: my guess is that once you make another comic everything will right itself in your comic list.

It worked and I gotta tell you, I love the new giant save comic button.

I got "Database error. Wuh oh." again last night from 10:49pm to at least 11:55pm (at which point I stopped checking). It is 11:32am by my clock now. During that time I did manage to load the homepage once, but it went again as soon as I tried to do anything (it could have been up for as long as 3 minutes, I refreshed then minimized).
