How difficult would it be for a manual .png delet button to appear at the same time a rendered strip appears as a .png?

If I have been hasty in creating a .png, I find that I cannot re-render the picture with a correction because the previous render already exists.

A "delete this picture" button would manually erase the .png, allowing a re-render and would also allow a stripper to tidy his use of the rendering mechanism.

Would such a button work like a "delete this comic" button? Would there be pitfalls or benefits I have not covered?

I am curious.

Or maybe making a new one would just overwrite the old one. That seems simpler.

Yeah I was trying to make it so that if people hit the make button multiple times accidentally it wouldn't tax the server. Maybe I'll put in a check and if the saved comic is over 5 minutes old it'll re-render it. Would that do the trick?

That would do it for me completely.

Thanks for looking into it. SC Rulz!

Here was a surprise...

Warning: fopen(http://hella.ath.cx/render/add.php?ID=353242): failed to open stream: Connection timed out in /home/httpd/vhosts/stripcreator.com/httpdocs/rendercomic.php on line 50

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/httpd/vhosts/stripcreator.com/httpdocs/rendercomic.php on line 51

and then it went time out and a little figure of Spankling popped up on the screen and spoke to me in french, saying (translated) tell Brad about this error.

:)

A "PNG" is a net graphics display file like a JPEG that allows a strip to be displayed on a blog or web site without having to go through the cumbersome process of Save as JPG thing.

It's a Brad provided button that does it all and converts a strip to

Bottom right on creen in list of commands:

[ edit this comic : delete this comic : create a new set : make png]

It's new and cool.
