Let's try it again.

I'm going for Chicago in April/May. That seemed to be the most popular vote from last year. I realize schedules change and all that, but hopefully this gives enough notice for people to make it.

Count yourselves in or out. I'll be going if even one person says they're in (aside from residents of Chi-town). I might stay out there for a week. Depends on how workflow is going at the time.

No one wanted an agenda, but we all have to eat, and I definitely want to check out a few restaurants.

I am willing to modify this schedule (place and timeframe) if it will get more than two additional people to come aboard.

We're NOT doing this in St. Louis. At all. I hope you all avoid St. Louis for the next four years, if at all possible. I'm not really happy with the road construction plan and I'm sure that there will be huge transportation problems, therefore I am taking it completely out of the mix. However, if you do decide to come here on your own free will, I will definitely meet up with you, and try to keep disgruntledness at a low.

there's an outside chance i could make it, but the timing would have to be just right.

I will definetly be in Chicago in April or May.

Provided I have a car on campus or it happens in late May I should be able to make it.

I think Alcoac is going to be in China.  I'll have to ask him..we like big trips together.  Plus, he's known me going on fifteen years and it'd be nice to have a familiar face there

If he isn't abroad, I'll convince him to go with me.  Maybe without him, though, maybe.  If I AM going, I'm asking my fellow Pennsylvania strippers (AusRotten, r0mp) if they can carpool with me.  To hell with taking a trip like that alone.  Provided they follow the rules of the road: head=gas money.

Maybe If I start swimming now....

You know, you could always have a European stripperfest for you all to get together over there. That is, if you even like one another.

Someday I'll get there. It was supposed to be next summer, but recent financial problems have set me back quite a bit.

It might be too much of a hassle for me... :( My lease ends at the beginning of May and I'm not sure if I'm going to be living in the same place or not, so I might be in the middle of a move come then.

 If I can manage it, I will definitely be there.

My life prelcudes me from planning anything this far in advance.  However, since Chicago is only a drive away, I can guarentee that I'll be there unless something earth-shattering comes up.

 Which, unfortunately, it often does.

Does anyone know an exact date yet?

That's a question which just invites chaos.  Why don't we take a vote on the weeked of Apr 20th through 22nd?  Can anyone who wants to come NOT make it that weekend?

I am better with weekends, and I could make it then. So count that as a vote in favor.

How difficult is it to get Cubbies tickets? Cause Strip-vention or no, I'm not going to Chicago and NOT seeing Wrigley Field. That would be blasphemous. (If it were hockey season, I'm sure I'd have NO PROBLEM getting Hawks tickets, but...)

Cubbies are sold out, or are damn near sold out for every game. I'm a Sox fan and even I could tell you that. Sox tickets would be easier to secure, but Comiskey Park is in a not so good area of town, whereas Wrigleyville is a place you could spend a day in.

If any strippers would like to get some crack rock we could all go hang around Comiskey for the day.

I think it would be more appropriate to hang around Comicsey

I'll be booking my hotel soon to get that taken care of at the same time that I book the campground for my annual camping weekend, which you're all welcome to attend as well (April 13 - 15 in NW Missouri). Just so you all have a chance to back out or jump in before I get anything set.

Shouldn't we all get a hotel together?  You know, for a group rate?  Or at least to get drunk and trash it?

I always stay at the Four Points Midway.

I'm probably going to stay at a Motel 6 or something of that nature. I just need basic necessities, and they can provide that for me. If you have a problem with that, that's your deal. But I'm not going to shell out more money than I make on my current probationary pay per week for a hotel I'm simply going to be sleeping in. It's great that all of you have great jobs and whatnot and can stay in a $250/night room without batting an eye, but speaking for myself and other working class persons who may not want to say anything, I'll definitely have to cut something back if I'm dropping that just for a place to sleep.

If Motel 6 isn't up to your standards, chances are I'm not going to be bunking anywhere near you.

Hotels cost $250 dollars a night? I thought it was something more like 70 bucks.

I sure as hell can't afford $250/night, either.  Of course, once I add in the cost of flying up there, it will probably even out to $200/night.

If anyone trust anyone enough to stay with a near total stranger who enjoys making comics about assrape, there's always the possibility of sharing rooms:  that cuts down the individual cost.  I suppose IMs should go to people individually, although a list in a single place of people who are coming would be helpful.  Maybe someone can do a WIKI page?

It's driveable for me so i'm semi in.

Chicago has lots of $200 hotel rooms and fewer $70 hotel rooms, so somebody good at planning or who knows the area should check around. The further out from the city, like hammond, the more there are $35/night hotels.

I'd suggest a designated "hospitality suite" type room that we all split,and the broke folks can sleep on the floor while the funded folks can get their own room. It's a step up from us all staying at crabby's.

Maybe there's a nice or gullible person in chicagoland who would like weekend guests, from which we could stage predawn raids excursions into the city. We could put a listing in craigslist chicago.

There's a youth hostel on the north side. I usually just walk around boystown all night or drive home. I know just enough about chicago to be able to point people towards the loop, art museum, boystown, chinatown, but it's important to have a local guide.
