I heard that Jack Kirby wrote alot of comics, but Stan Lee mostly just talked.
Stan was the ultimate huckster. The shim-sham artist. The guy selling boner cream on the corner to the guys coming out of the steel mill. Yeah, Kirby and Ditko were much more important to early Marvel than they're given credit for (especially Jack), but who would've heard of their work without Stan doing the shilling. His verbosity, his slickness, his refusal to take what he was doing entirely seriously was the glue that held Marvel together. And that's why I love the guy.
