I have to admit, I would be afraid of fucking tigers.  But the opportunity doesn't arise that often.  Usually, they won't put out for you anyway.

It started in 3rd grade with the clarinet. My father owned one, my brother took up playing one. From there, I moved on to the tenor saxophone. I eventually learned the alto, bass, baritone, and soprano saxophone in there also. It's rumored that there are other members of the saxophone family, but I've never had access to any of these horns. It should also be noted that I've only ever played on a soprano clarinet, though there are othe members of that family I've never had access to. From there, I moved on to the flute. To be completely technical, it was a concert flute. For people with sticks up their butts about complete correctness, it's a western concert flute. I LOVED the flute. The flute is the one instrument that I don't have to think about when I play it. I also learned the piccolo in there as it was necessary for someone to play that part in a concert I was involved in. Also during that time, I learned to play the bass drum, snare drum, and the timpani. Then I learned the oboe, classical. I'm not sure exactly how the rest happened, as it's all a big blur of horns and yes, band camp: Trumpet (C), Trombone (tenor and bass - that was more or less because I really wanted to get to know a cute guy who played both), Tuba (classical concert), and french horn (double horn). And before the jokes all get around, let me just say the most popular and hottest guys at my school all took band. My school was and still is the most musical pushing school in the world, which leads me to believe they get private music elective funding. After band camp and taking formal band classes, I pursued the keyboard and piano and have thus far had three failed attempts at the guitar. I can play mary had a little lamb on both a violin and viola, so yes, I can say I play them because technically I can. I have no idea what notes I'm playing precisely, though so neither are my preferred instrument of choice.

I am currently taking guitar lessons as often as I can, until one or both of us get too drunk to remember what I was learning. And I'm taking harp lessons, on occasion as well. I'm not a fan of string instruments and, given my past failures, I wouldn't expect much to happen from this.

I also can play the triangle, dayereh, and the modern tamborine.
