If you're all on myspace anyway, what's the point of having a facebook too?

Myspace is soooooo yesterday.

Myspace puts virii on my computer... random pop ups that close my browser and when I try to close out of them, end up 'scanning my system for viruses', which really means they put viruses on my computer.

Seriously. I have AVG, and as soon as this dang thing started running (not by my choice... even clicking on the red x in the corner makes the stupid program run), AVG pops up and is like 'DANGER DANGER TROJAN VIRUS ALERT'. So every time I log into myspace, the same thing happens (Malware or some bs like that), to the point that I have to ctrl alt del to close it, otherwise my computer would be riddled with virii. And its not just on my laptop either. It happened on the bf's computer as well.

Facebook loves me. They don't put virii on my computer. They also don't have songs or backgrounds that slow down my flaky internet, which helps. My only beef is the fact that there are so many applications that you can add to your profile that people just add them all and then it takes me 10 years to get to their 'wall'.

I doubt myspace is doing that.  You probably picked up a virus from somewhere else that waits until you go to certain sites and pops up ads.  Then again, I've never used it, so what do I know.

And, FYI, the plural of "virus" in English is "viruses."  And the plural in Latin for the word spelled "VIRUS" is "VIRI."

I'm on Facebook. And MySpace.

I'm on MySpace, which automatically makes it 100% better than Facebook.  If Facebook isn't cool enough to already have me on it, why should I go there?

I used to get those inescapable pop-ups on MySpace but after complaining incessantly about it and calling Tom an "asshole" (probably along with a lot of other users) they took them off.

"Facebook" sounds like a souvenir album that Leatherface would make.

Facebook has been turning into myspace lately, what with your ability to add applications. I'll admit, some of them are pretty cool and let you customize your page to your liking (without all the goddam sparkling backgrounds and fucking pop music), but some of them are even worse than the shlock on myspace. That being said, I'm only on facebook - a link to my page is in my SC profile.

Facebook is the bastard son of myspace and friendsreunited. Handy for looking up ex girlfriends and for reminding yourself why you stopped talking to the people you went to school with in the first place.

Many of the apps are pretty crap, little more than web 2.0 "tag you're it" style nonsense involving the usual cultural niches (Pirates, jedis, vampires, zombies), but there are exceptions (Scrabulous for example)

Also Conspirisist theories point to the fact that somewhere down the line its owned by the CIA and is probably used to profile everyone on the planet, I mean why bother with the hassle of actually sending agents out and collecting this info if you have a website that will do the legwork for you?

That said there is something rather good about just seeing what people you know are up to, the news feed is cool, but the novelty value of the site is beginning to wane.

Seeing as it does it regardless of what computer I'm using, I doubt its my computer having a virus on it already.

Also, I was saying virii because its fun to use the wrong word. I'm not stupid.

I have a MySpace, which I barely ever use, and I have a Facebook, which I use more because I have people I actually like added on there more than MySpace.

And apparently everyone in the UK has a Bebo. I don't understand it at all, but whatever.
