Okay - I've looked back at a fair number of the past comic competitions and am not even going to attempt something half as good as any of those. It'd take me too long.

So I'm going to risk finding out that it's been done already by asking you to make new comics, using any available backgrounds and characters, with narration, dialogue, etc.; whatever works. Each entry must have three panels that proceed from left to right in reverse chronological order.

I'll judge the contest sometime next Wednesday.

You're copying the rules that Devin made for the one CC he ran.

I have no idea why I find that funny.

I had a feeling something like that was going to happen unless I read all of the previous contest ideas. *sigh*

Let me make sure I understand: The comic goes backward in time? Last moment first, first moment last? Like Memento?

Exactly, only without all the lame overacting.

Hi - yes; that's the idea. The punch line can still come in the last panel, but in terms of the story, it happened before everything else.

now does it have to got 3,2,1 or can it go 2,3,1?  in terms of 1 being the first to occur, and 3 being the last?

It should go 3,2,1. There could be situations that are misleading and read like they're 2,3,1, though.

Here's an example:

Hey - thanks for the entries - when I said "next wednesday" on the 20th, I meant Wednesday the 30th. Sorry if that had been unclear.

Thanks for all the entries. There are a lot of funny people here, and, of course, there are several that could have won. These are the ones I liked the best:

Nice use of reverse-time:

/comics/finn34/420194/

Works backwards and forwards / time comes out meaningless. I was hoping someone would do something like this:

/comics/HydeGuy/420464/

Great use of shrinking time / effort as punch line approaches. Made me laugh / begin a coughing fit:

/comics/NeoVid/420087/

I love the way the silence of the first panel fills with awkwardness when this is read right to left - a brilliantly simple flip from zero to ick:

/comics/mandingo/420119/

And, I've got to choose a winner, so here goes. Congratulations, Cre8ive13,

and use CC379 wisely:

Just the right amount of text here - like a knot that takes a slight tug before unraveling:

Thanks for the win! I'm honored with so many exceptional entries.

I'll have the next CC379 up shortly!
