Well, not that it matters to anyone except me, here follows a condensed version of the history and numerology behind this series of strips: I do 50 strip series, there are common threads between them including the fact that series titles are constructed around a three series subset, as well as an overall naming scheme that supercedes these intricacies and is pretty much a load of pretentious bullshit. Thus this sixth series has come to be titled HEXAMORPHA.

Now, for a synopsis: this series contains office humor, which I find to be rather easy to do and rather easy to do badly, or worse, mediocrely. So as always, I thought, with just the right twist towards the actual mundanity of working in an office, there could be something special there. I was probably wrong. Oh well.

Anyway, this is the ongoing serial Hexamorpha:

If you like it, you can click on one and read the rest. If not, then whatever. I'm sure as hell not going to post all of them.

I'm a big fan of comics with no real punchline, but these cross the line.

Conversely, I'm a huge fan of dry humor, yet these comics are so dry, they're stale.

That is a fair assessment. Problem is, my usual style of humour is very very dry, and for the high-faluting concept behind this strip to work in my eyes, it has to be even dryer than that. The sick thing is, I am willing to sacrifice the humour of an individual strip for the overall effect, even if it falls flat on both accounts. And even sicker than that, the intended effect isn't neccessarily humour. I guess that makes me a poor comicstrip writer, violating the very parameters of the medium.

SHORT REPLY:

I agree.

Actually, that explanation kind of makes me like them more.

I thought this was very, very funny on its own. Otherwise I like what you're doing with the "overall" feeling that you were talking about, I try to do that with mine too. My only criticism/advice is steer clear of racist/violent jokes or use them sparingly, not because they aren't funny but because they're "easy" humor that doesn't show anything new. Thumbs up though.
