Hello and welcome to CC 383. To commemorate the passing of a true legend of Nerd-dom, Mr. Gary Gygax the Co-Creator of Dungeons and Dragons, I ask you to show the world what scary levels of Geekdom can achieve. Perhaps it's an obscure joke known only to people using a hexadecimal language, a delicious pun based around a level 15 Orc shaman named 'Gorbad the Red'; or even the consequences of spending too much time locked away in a windowless environment building and painting a 28mm scale model tank. Whatever you choose the rules are thus:

1) Be funny.

2) New comics only please.

3) Series are good things but not a necessity.

4) Judging shall commence in about a week - I aim to do it some time on 15th day of March.

5) Where an explanation of WHY something is funny, please provide it or use the words 'Lesbian' or 'boobs' in its place.

Wow. Now we know who the uber nerds of this site are.

Um... I don't play video games, don't have the slightest clue what anything pertaining to D&D actually means, have never read a single comic book, don't watch anime, hate RPGs, and never played Warcraft or anything like it. I used to play Magic... like ten years ago. I'm not sure I'm qualified to enter this contest.

Well, do you know sports results dating back to 1981? Do you know more than twenty uses for hummus? Do you catalogue your DVD collection by Genre, Director, Year THEN Alphabetically? Can you make the photocopier in work reduce the copy size by 35%, print double sided, collate and staple? Do you know someone that does?

All the above are signs of nerd-ishness in my opinion. Failing that make a 'Rain Man' gag. That usually works

Fine, we'll D100 it (with a +10% modifier for Chaotic Good characters), you get more than 87 and we'll talk.

Wow. Your life sounds boring.

What's sounds boring to me is a game that has about 83 million rules, and apparently no point, and no end.

Being said, here are some music nerds:

Ah, pro sports.

I'm guessing you don't read, either.

Haha, no. I hate pro sports - I watch a little baseball now and again, but it's not really my thing. But I do read a lot - as a matter of fact, I'm an English major.

All right, so you read all the time to make up for not doing anything else fun*.

*As this is a discussion mainly between gamers, the option of using your free time to have a social life has not been considered.

Hahaha, nice. Well, I don't think "getting drunk with your co-workers every night" qualifies as a "social life," so, well-played, sir. I think we can let this rest.

Right. This was tougher than a very tough thing indeed. Thanks to all those that entered

Notable, but not winnable, entries are

/comics/NeoVid/425052/ - by NeoVid

/comics/theburninator/425121/ - by theburninator

/comics/100Faces/425150/ - by 100Faces

As wonderful and supremely entertaining as they were I believe that the winner TRULY out-nerded his contemporaries with a mind-bogglingly specific display of Geekishness.

I give you your winner;

This was a contest?  Seemed like it was more of a chatline for dweebs and geeks!
