it is true. And we call Sting Gordon Sumner because there was already a famous Australian musician known as Sting.

Thank you so much for not referring to it as the 'Son of a Bitch' song.

I think it impossible to narrow a list like this to a "5 best". There are just too many from which to choose. It is fun nonetheless. Here are five classics I did not see mentioned in other posts:

That'll be the Day - Buddy Holly

Gimme Shelter - Rolling Stones

Paranoid - Black Sabath

She's Not There - Santana(Orginally by the Zombies)

Johnny Be Goode - Chuck Berry

1. Shook Me All Night Long - AC/DC

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81VPZ9_r2PE

(Any song where you yell every lyric is rock)

2. Sweet Emotion - Aerosmith

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yGCHPmfqT0

(Best non solo bass riff ever)

3.  Tomorrow Never Knows - The Beatles

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVUzTZ5dgwQ

(This song changed everything and created a genre)

4.  Fortunate Son - Creedence Clearwater Revival

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBfjU3_XOaA

(Simple and succinct, this song proves that the louder it is, the better; try it out)

5. 46 & 2 - Tool

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tja6_h4lT6A

(Unique message and a stand up ending) maybe not ever but I love it as one of my top 5
