As the "Resident Batman Fanboy", I just wanna say that The Riddler was always my favorite Batman villain.  The Joker is a villain because he's insane.  Boring.  The Riddler is way more complex.  He's a villain because life is a challenge to him.  It's not about commiting the crimes, it's about seeing if Batman is smart enough to catch him  Arguably Batman's smartest villain, and always playing a human game of chess with Batman.
