I live for comic cups.

Comic Comps begin and end every week, but a cup goes on forever. Well, okay, the record is still four years.

Considering I'm still here at least a couple times a week, I'd better sign up.

I think I'm around here quite often, although lately, I may be gone for quite a while. But as soon as I have the opportunity, I will, as usual, log on to stripcreator.

16 would have been a nice way to wrap it all up and put a bow on it, but if others are still straggling in, I could leave it open a lil longer and see just how many people want in. It's been 4 years, so who knows when you might get another opportunity to compete in the all important comic cup!

So what number are you settling with now?

Well... You know, this is proving more difficult than I thought. The thug in me says just take the first 16 who got their names in and start the contest with them. Run a very intimate double elimination first round followed by a very dark and moody 2nd round sure to damper everyones spirits and then follow it up with however many more rounds it will take to find a winner.

I was planning to re-read all the old cups and see how my predecessors handled the situation, but I think I'll just listen to my heart and hope for the best.

Does anyone else have any ideas they'd like to reccomend? For those of you that were in the first 16, are you in a hurry to get this thing going? Should we wait a month and see how many more names we get? I want to reach out and hear what you all think on the matter before rushing to any serious conclusions.

It seems unlikely to me that we will be able to attract 14 more users needed to hold a 32 member competition so i think we should either start the competition off with just the 1st 16 contestants or figure out some way to include umfundisi and kaufman.  Anyone have any ideas???

The old cups had solutions for that, but that jsut means living in the past! I'm going to start the blind draw this afternoon and have the first round match ups listed and give two weeks of leadway to hone your humor and then announce the rules and let the voting begin.

If any of the first 16 don't respond, then kaufman and umfum can be reserves. If they don't respond to their reserve roles, well then we'll jsut have the worst cup ever.

Maybe you should request a roll call, and the first 16 of the 18 in the list who reply, are in. This way, we know that those 16 are paying attention to the thread and this will roll along smoothly.
