Here's a list of all the fun new characters in the Stripcreator. First we start with the oft-requested Christmas artwork:

  • holiday/snowman1

  • holiday/deer1-1
  • holiday/deer1-2
  • holiday/deer2-1
  • holiday/deer2-2
  • holiday/santa1
  • holiday/santa2
  • holiday/elf1
  • holiday/elf2
  • holiday/xmastree1
  • backgrounds/snowscape1
And then we have the non-Christmas artwork:
  • forumusers/crabby1
  • forumusers/crabby2
  • forumusers/matthew1
  • forumusers/matthew2
  • dexx/clappy1
  • dexx/clappy2
  • dexx/demon1-1
  • dexx/demon1-2
  • dexx/demon2-1
  • dexx/demon2-2
  • backgrounds/blue
  • backgrounds/green
  • backgrounds/grey
  • backgrounds/red
  • backgrounds/yellow
All have been lovingly crafted by your hero DexX except for the snowman which was lovingly crafted by someone whose e-mail I lost in a computer switch and I can't remember the name of. So he should post here so you can lavish him with praise and so on. Merry Christmas.

Great art, but what is this aversion some people have to calling Christmas Christmas? To me, "holiday" is a day off work, and "holidays" is going away for the summer.

I've got no issue with the word "Christmas" but I may want to add an Easter Bunny or something and I'd rather not have to make a whole separate category.

I think it was fuzzyman who did the snowman.

Brad forgot to mention another new character, also in the "dexx" category - Clappy!

I edited my message and added clappy so you'd look crazy, DexX.

The tree and most other trimmings you call Christmas actually belong to the holiday I celebrate, the Solstice. Jesus was born some time in the spring, but they moved the celebration to the winter solstice in order to use the symbols.

When you add in Hanukah and Kwanza and so on, you can see how "holiday" just makes life easier. But if you want we can all refer to it as the Solstice.

I'm definitely down with a black Santa, like, with a huge afro!

And Mystery Science Theatre 3000 characters!!!

Two reasons why I won't be doing these:

1) I have never seen the show, and know of it only by reputation.

2) If you use the silhouettes as characters... what is there for them to comment on? A background with no characters on it, that's what.

Of course, I have no art monopoly on this site - anyone else who cares to give it a go is welcome to.

I went ahead and did them myself.

I've never seen the show either, so I figured we could use stripcreator characters instead. I used Tobor and Dr. Pedantic because they have fairly distinctive "voices" so that you can make them talk even though the speech balloon arrow doesn't point to them. And Diablo, well, I just associate him with bad movies now. ;)

I haven't sent them off to Brad yet, because I wanted some input on them first. So gimme!

Very good. But is that two characters or one? That is to say, do they take up half the panel horizontally or the whole thing?

The three seats take the place of a single character (half a panel). I made the empty-seat piece so that you can fill up a whole panel if you want, or put in another character who would be "in the movie" instead.

Hmmm. I guess the only problem is that we wouldn't know which of the 3 characters are talking.

That's why I chose one character who would be limited to using the word "cornhole" in all caps. ;)

And on an unrelated note, I found this on my hard drive:

It's an altered pose of somebody else's character (can't remember who it was). What ever happened to this guy?

I've already sent him twice. I assumed he wasn't wanted and gave up.

For your amusement, visit here to see some of the other stuff, along with the dorky .mp3's I made when Brad asked for stuff with his name in it.

Since we're on the subject of art....DexX..please please please, could you fix that whole "Jael's hand is stuck in her hair thing" when you get a chance.

I'm being relegated to moronic bimbette usage. Of course it could be worse...I know...

But I'd just respect you oodles and bunches if ya could ;))

I have already fixed the broken hand, with the thumb on the wrong side (I don't think Brad has swapped it over yet) but... well, I can't really change the pose substantially without a complete redraw. :(

A lot of strips' humour may depend on Jael's hand being buggered and in her hair. If the art is changed, those strips will make no sense!

I have only noticed a couple of gags about the buggered hand, but quite a lot that depend on the hand in the hair, so...

They are awesome, I love MST3K, I would honestly use those characters all the time and I'd probably include them in some rule in a CC, if I ever win another one.

You can argue that they don't follow the same rules as the other characters, but that's what makes them good, it'd be up to the comic making skills of the strippers to break the normal boundaries and make them work.
