So Geico has a slew of commercial where someone says you could save money by switching to them and a second person says, "Everybody knows that. But did you know..." And we see that scene where that happens and hilarity ensues.  Click the link for an example:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCysb4_-4jU

So for this contest, I would like you to use the same structure.

Person A makes a statement.

Person B says "Everbody knows that. But did you know..." (insert your own fact here, real or otherwise)

Then set up and complete the punchline.

That's the gist of it.  Nobody will save a damn thing by switching to another contest so don't try.

Judging will happen.  I promise.

Person B says "Everbody knows that. But did you know..." (insert your own fact here, real or otherwise)

Actually, no.

In the schematic, the speaker of "Everybody knows that" is *not* the one offering the new statement of comic gold.  It is uttered by the person who initially realized how a small amount of time could save them money on car insurance. In trying to compensate for the dismissal of "everybody knows that"--and not want to seem like a Johnny-come-lately in all areas, they wish to make a comeback with something THEY know.  Hence a purported fact is presented that is not car insurance related, as a form of one-upmanship.

Just wanted to be clear about that.

Yes, I technically realized this after submitting it. RCLG also realized this and made his comic using the schematic you have pointed out without making a big deal about it.  Either way will be acceptable forms for this CC.

Just wanted to be clear about that.
