There's a fair amount of TMBG inspiration in this album. However the Bag Of Cats lyric wasn't a direct attempt to reference TMBG, I just needed something that rhymed with "thing", lol.
And yep, Don't Eat Bees is about my daughter Sakura. The chorus is based on a weird game she made up about a year ago, where she would pretend to eat a bee and then you'd have to say "don't eat bees" and she would go "aaaaah". I have no idea where she got the idea for the game. But yeah, I'm hoping like 20 years from now she'll be digging through my things and run across that song and we'll get to have a warm Hallmark father/daughter moment.
