Now when you go to make comics, is it taking forever for eveything to load up? Or is it just mine?

It's probably because we just moved to a newer server and it isn't as zippy as the one we were on earlier. Maybe if everyone pitched in and sent Brad $5, he'd have enough dough to host Stripcreator on some swankorific-ultra server somewhere.

And even if you're only eight and don't have a credit card, you've probably still got enough brains to crack open the ol' piggy bank and fill an envelope with last week's allowance. 'Cause every little bit helps.

I have a theory...

I think everything is probably running slowly because the host-change means your browser can't use any of the cached files it has on file for the old host. As such, it has to reload everything, which would take a while.

*shrug*

Just a theory.

PS. I am sending Brad a larger donation twice a year, rather than a smaller one regularly. Thanks to Christmas, interstate travel, and other end-of-year expenses, he'll be getting his next cash-slug from me in January.

I think DexX is correct for the most part, but I also think there is some degree of server irregularity. Some things zip right through, and some things take a while. Once everyone has made the switch and all those people read that article that someone posted about, this place is going to get swamped.

Perhaps Brad should think about selling ad space. If he does it in a non-intrusive way (no pop-ups, no time-elapsed frames that reload a new ad, etc) then he can make a bit of cash off the sheer volume of people, and it won't detract too much from our enjoyment.

I suggested the same to Brad, and he says there is just no money in ad banners any more.

With the sheer mass of people who come through here, I think he should do the PA/PVP thing and get a couple of regular sponsors.

It makes sense, after all we borrow their artwork.
Perhaps Brad can get affiliated with the www.keenspot.com network or something. I've read/read alot of online comics, and they seem pretty close knit. This site could be part of that comunity.
