Hello I am dink, I am the creator of Squirrel-Boy.
I just want to let you know that Squirrel-Boy is going to be a continuing series on stripcreator.com.

Thank you.

Hmmm.

I've read the series, and while each comic moved the ongoing story forward, none of them seem to have punchlines. Are they supposed to be funny?

with a name like "Squirrel boy", how could they not be funny?

*reads comics*

Dear Lord....

*drops pint as it falls to the floor a la Usual Suspects, the glass smashes, then the camera slowly zooms in on the bottom of the glass, the name "Dink" is inscribed, fade to black*

If you read the faq, there's no rule about being funny. You don't have to be funny. Nobody has quite taken advantage of that fact so fully as Dink, but it ain't a crime.

Rock on, then....

No, I was seriously wondering if they were supposed to be funny or not. It may very well be his intention that they NOT be funny. Which could make sense.

Actually, there is nothing stopping someone from doing a dramatic series a-la Winnie Winkle or Gil Thorpe.

Hmmm...

At least he gave Tobor a diverse role...sort of.

But that could be ignorance.

Finally, one that was actually funny!

Or something...

I think dink was trying to be funny, and I once or twice caught myself in a chuckle, but it was quickly stifled by the next panels's unfuniness.

No, this one is actually tremendously hilarious.

Think about it. The presence of the kaufman character, by definition radiates "this is funny", while the presence of the asian girls at the end conveys "this is not finished." And we have two frames of that! You might as well draw a bar over the kaufman and like a non-terminating rational number, the message kaufman, kaufman, kaufman, ... ad infinitum is what comes out of the comic. Obviously, it's an infinite amount of funny, and downright on a par with "Nein, beierhund die Flipperwald gersput!" Luckily, I'm not fluent enough in German, so I can still write this.

Dear Crabby

By the time you read this , i will be dead. As will everyone else who has read the Squirrel Boy comics. They are a new level of crap , the likes of which has never been seen on these forums. Your previous series simply cannot compare with the level of utter mince contained within these comics.

I pray you find my body before the Poong Donkey , and give me a decent burial.

Your friend always

KKP

Shouldn't the first panel have a narration that says "Poong poong, poong poong poong..."?

The Poong Donkey is my own creation.
Kaufman's Journal was an error on my part. I saved it when I shouldn't have. Thank you for your input, I appreciate it.

Just so you know, I wasn't laughing at the fact that you screwed up the kaufman journal, it just seems like that half the time when someone screws up and hits save too soon, it actually ends up making the strip really funny... moreso than it would have been had nobody fucked up. This is one of those times, since that was actually pretty funny... to me, at least.

By the way, if I had to pick one part of the series that was intentionally *good,* I would say it was the line "Don't worry, I'VE got a hammer." This line actually has a certain magic about it, that I can't quite grasp. It could be put into so many contexts and retain its magic... that's the stuff I like.
