I'm afraid that I wrote a comic strip that was even more obscure than usual. So offer this clarification.

Koyaanisqatsi is film without words or a plot. Purely through the use of imagery the film conveys the premise that man has so changed the world that it is now out of balance with natural order. The soundtrack was composed by Phillip Glass who writes repetitious minimalistic music. Both the imagery and music starts slow but build in pace as the film progresses. At the end, the film is an assault on your senses.

I went to see Koyaanisqatsi with my then-girlfriend. Near the end of the film, the onslaught of images and sound made her physically sick. She had to lay down with her head in my lap for the remainder of the movie. I never did hear the end of her complaints about 'That Movie'.

Damn it, you just had to make that joke before anyone else, didn't you?

Koyaanisqatsi is brilliant, but the male choir doing the monotonal "Koy-aan-i-skat-see" started to get on my nerves. To this day, years later, my wife and I both start chanting "Koy-aan-i-skat-see" whenever a repetitive song is getting on our nerves. :)
