I should note that "Thank fuck that's over with" is a quote from Kajun. I just thought it seemed an apt conclusion to the strip, so I borrowed the phrase.

Being the stereotype stoner that I am, I have no idea when I said that, could you give me a clue?

I can see a lot of horse/donkey serieses (serii?) being made in the near future, and I have to say these are some of the coolest characters on the site Skagg, and are we going to see any more of Butch or Gabe's?

This should probably be in the Crappy Comics thread. It's a classic case of the title wagging the strip.

I hope I don't screw this up too badly.

England, Scotland, and Wales are three nations that coexist on one island, called Great Britain. Technically, the English, Scots, and Welsh are all British. The United Kingdom includes Great Britain, Northern Ireland, and a few smaller islands.

What separates England from Scotland and England from Wales is mainly geography and partly culture.

People from England are called "English". Is it that hard to grasp?

Yes, the term "British" is only reserved for successfull Scots and Welsh people.

For instance, if a Scottish Olympian won the 1500 metre race, the commentators would be screaming:

"THE YOUNG LAD FROM BRITAIN, BRINGS HOME THE GOLD, THEY'LL BE CELEBRATING IN THE STREETS TONIGHT!"

however, if he was to fall, and fail to finish the race, it would be:

"oh the poor Scottish lad, his dreams smashed, there'll be a lot of dissapointed fans in Scotland tonight."

of course, if an ENGLISH Olympian where to win, it's a case of "United What?".

We also have a different Parliament from England and Wales. But we're represented in the British Parliament too.

By "represented", of course, I mean we pay people to hang around in the bar all day until it's time for them to pop into the chamber and vote the way Tony Blair tells them to.

Wasn't the Scottish Parliament largely ceremonial until recently? I thought I remembered reading something about a step being taken towards Scottish independence with the granting of limited autonomy via the Scottish parliament.

The Scottish Parliament was abolished in 1707. When Labour finally managed to beat the Conservatives, they reconvened it in 1998. By parliamentary standards, that's a pretty brief holiday.

It has proper law-making powers, and has, in my estimation, done a lot more for Scotland in its short life than Westminster did in decades. The ruling party in the Scottish Parliament is currently Labour, though, which means that it's generally pretty scared to oppose the Prime Minister. But still, a step in the right direction.

I know, I was just kidding.

I mean, I'm know that it was the British Empire, and all that came about after they crushed the Scots.

They never crushed the Scots! Not militarily, anyway. They made mincemeat out of the Welsh pretty quickly, mind you...

But that's enough.
