This is a rather weird occurance -- let's see if I can explain it without sounding like a blathering nincompoop.

When I open a window to read the forums the new posting works as promised. However, when I keep Stripcreator open in any window and make a comic, or browse random comics, or edit my account -- anything with stripcreator -- the next time I come back to the forums the messages I just read are still marked as unread.

This happens even if I open a new window, or several. As long as stripcreator is in one window, it seems that it won't mark my messages as read.

If new messages come in besides the one I've already read, it'll mark those as unread. However, it will never mark the ones I HAVE read as read until I close all stripcreator windows and open the forums again from the new ones.

Does that make any sense at all?

That's normal. Messages are not marked as read until you have visited the particular forum in which they are found, and then closed IE down completely. If this isn't normal, then I've had this bug since new message marking was first introduced, since it has always worked this way for me.

That's the way it should work. I don't think I've seen any bulletin board that does it differently.

all the messages ive read in the past week still have the star next to them.

I'm using Version 6.0.

I can't log out either but that only means I can't get into my Gabe_Billings account.
