Sorry, but I have a policy of only reading a newbie's comics if they post a sampling of their work in the forum. This signifies that they have lurked for a time (or have at least read a few threads) and have seen how we generally do things. If you want to get a job as an illustrator, you give a prospective employee a folio of your best work. You do not give him a huge pile of every sketch you have done since kidergarten and expect him to browse from the beginning. Show us, in the thread, the ones you think are the best, and we will be more likely to go and read the rest (especially if the ones you show us are actually good).

And no amount of FAQ-plugging is ever going to make any of them actually read the damn thing, sadly.

It's called an analogy, you arrogant motherfucker, and it is an analogy which stands no matter who you are. I don't give a flying fuck who you are. You could be Graeme Base, who has done some of the best illustrating work I have ever seen, and the analogy would still hold. If I had said something about a would-be fashion model showing a prospective employee all her baby photos, and you were Elle MacPherson, it still would have made no difference to the validity of the analogy.
