this may have been covered earlier, and i really don't feel like slogging through all the boring bug reports i've missed... but what happened to the ability to type in, say, www.stripcreator.com/~MENBAH and have that user's comics come up? it used to work...

Well, we switched hosts and that host didn't support that sort of insanity. The new one -- this one -- does, but I haven't put it back in.

There was also the issue that it doesn't work for people with older accounts with spaces in their names. I had been considering the idea of changing them all to have underscores, but then the hosting issues made the point moot. Now I will ponder it again, I suppose.

No, NO, NOOOOOO!!!!!

My complete lack of an underscore is all that I am, with an underscore, I'm not better than, well, Billings.

I'd happily be the only one whose account can't be linked to using the ~ thing.

i'm always glad to instigate such profound conversation. oh yeah--and for what it's worth, i don't think "engender" means what you think it means. and neither does merriam-webster.

Just go to your comics, erase your name from the address bar, and add in whoever you wanna see.

Example

http://www.stripcreator.com/view.php?author=JrnymnNate

to

http://www.stripcreator.com/view.php?author=

to

http://www.stripcreator.com/view.php?author=allenhenderson

Ta-Da!

The best way I have found to do that is to tell them the site's basic URL, then tell them to go to a particular forum and read a thread of a particular name. Seems to work.
