I think we're all very exhausted from buttfucking sub_m7 for weeks on end. So, let's take a break and comment on the following statement:
Funerals are not for the dead; they're for the living.

In that case, leave the corpse home.

This is kind of an amalgam of the Jack Lemmon character from Mass Appeal and my old pal Monsignor Green at St. Thomas More in Baton Rouge. He was so cool, it made me want to be Catholic, except I didn't believe any of that shit.

You're right. My girlfriend didn't but she got confirmed anyway.

I stopped short of confirmation. Although I thought I might have to when my wife wanted to get married in The Church (capitals necessary). But we found a priest who let us through some loophole in Catholic doctrine (and please no altar boy jokes here).

But all I have to say about the Catholic church is: 16 years in Catholic education and now I'm a damn atheist. Thanks a lot, Sister Ann Helene. ;)

Our priest let me get married stark naked but for a bronze ram's head and a sprig of mistletoe.

OK, not really.

In truth, I got married in a Unitarian church, which had all the spiritual ambience of a high school gym. That was last time. The first time, I got married in the student union ballroom by the guy who founded The Church of the Great Green Frog. He called himself Frater Frogalogus. I wish I were making this one up.
