Rules contest #3 runs like the last one: ten rules, two of them somewhat related. Post comics you think are compliant, and I'll be here to help.

Once again, we'll start you off with three strips, one of which satisfies 1-5 only, one of which satisfies 6-10 only, and one of which satisfies all the rules. Some rules are harder than others, and I've thrown in a curve or two.

This one, as the title suggest satisfies the first five of my 10 rules.

And now the antithesis. This is good on Rules 6-10 only.

Probably Uncompliant:
Complies: 5
Fails: 1,2,6,7,8,9,10
Almost: 4
On the right track, but still a way to go: 3

Yup, this complies, and it may clear up a few things.

Here is my initial attempt. Your rules are very tricky. I keep thinking I have one, then just one comic shows it can't be right. Very brainhurty[1].

21593

Hey, kaufman, how about giving us a 100% non-compliant strip?

[1] brainhurty - (adj) Of a complex and confusing nature that causes headache. eg. "I don't get this calculus - it is terribly brainhurty!"

Coming up shortly. I'll even write it in a way that only five(!) changes are needed to make the strip fully compliant.

As for your comic:

Roger's Adventures
Complies: 10
Fails: 1,5,6,7,8,9
Not Quite: 2,3,4

As promised, this comic complies with exactly zero of my ten rules. What the narration says is the truth.

21620
Removing the narration would be a recommended sixth change for veracity, but it would have no effect on the strip's compliance in this case.

Step by Step
Complies: 4
Fails: 1,2,5,7,10
Not Quite: 3
Almost Completely Wrong (which may be a clue): 6
Can't Be Evaluated: 9

Shit. I agree with DexX. I spent quite a while looking at your comics and came up with a nice list. Then I looked at DexX's comic and realized he probably had the same list I did. And it didn't seem to get him anywhere.

My Head Hurts
Unless I missed it, you chose to pass on Rules 1,2 and 10.
Rule 3 is almost there; just remove 4 well-chosen characters.
Rule 4 still complies.
Rules 5 and 8 require Characters other than those present to appear.
Rule 6 should be becoming evident in my compliant cartoons; note what Characters are saying. http://www.stripcreator.com/view.php?ID=20742 serves as an anti-6.
Rule 7: Something's missing.
Rule 9 depends on Rule 8.

(character = typed character
Character = person or prop)

I'm pretty sure that last one complied with #7. In fact, when looking back over your comics to decide what #7 was, the only way I found for it to be compliant was that it used the same that I did in mine. But I forgive you.

This time.

This would be over and done with if stupid me didn't decide to go with a context-dependent rule. What works here doesn't there :-(
