There's a member rating system now online, available for donors only. The average results are displayed in stars underneath the user's name in forum posts. My next post will explain how to use it.

If you're registered as a donor and logged in, when you visit a user's comic page, you should see a form underneath the grey profile box. Choose good, okay or bad, optionally fill in a comment briefly explaining your vote and click save.

You can update your vote at any time.

Right now the only place to see the ratings is underneath forum posts, displayed in handy star format.

Votes and comments are private. Number of votes will probably be visible sometime.

There will probably be big crazy bugs, so expect the system to be a bit nasty for the first while.

And where are the forum posts? I thought you might have taken them away to stop newbies flooding.

I'll probably just give everyone good because I love everyone (in a non-gay way).

I actually took them out because with the post and comic counts and the rating thing, the sidebar of posts was looking really cluttered.

I may try to find a way to jam all that info on the user pages at some point.

Fixed a few bugs that affected users with spaces in their usernames.

If you hold your mouse cursor over the stars, it should tell you how many votes the user has.

It seems to be working, so we'll see how it goes.

Where do we look to see comments left for us? I at first thought the comments were publically viewable.

If it's not too much trouble, it would be nice if we could also decide to withdraw a vote we previously cast. I've already changed my mind and want to abstain from voting on someone I've voted on.

And could the rating control be moved below the comic, to where the "delete this comic" link appears on one's own page? No reason to displace the comic any further from the top of the page than it already is.

Yeah, I was wondering if the space it takes up at the top is too much. I'll switch that soon. I've also been thinking about making a whole other stats page thing.

Also, I've thought of possibly letting people see the comments other users make, but keeping them anonymous. So that you're able to give feedback somehow.

I'll add abstaining sometime soon.

What's the purpose of this rating system? Should we vote for a user based on what we think of their personality or conduct, or of the quality of their comics? Or both?

On the size of their member.

I'd like to see the ratings on the main page, so I can maybe find some new stuff by a good stripper I might not have known about. Also, there should be a small quorum required for the ratings to show up, like maybe three to five, so that one or two people can't determine someone's rating alone.

Annonymous comments'd be awesome.

Also, it'd be cool if maybe non-donors could vote, but their vote would not effect the normal rating, instead, if you get at least what would be at least a 75% approval or whatever is equal to 3.75 stars in a seperate "non-donor" catagory, if the user had this 75% it would give that user a 6th, single, red star. This would allow non-donors to contribute, but have their contribution seperate and less powerful.

Giving non-donors any kind of voting would just encourage idiots to make a bunch of extra accounts.

Both. Just overall if you think they're a good, okay or bad person to have in the forums. Vote good if you want them to stay, vote bad if you'd be happy with them not being around anymore.
