I've only been here a short while, but I'm finding some terribly funny comics that are a bit older - would people mind if I posted some here? I realize they may just be old news to people who have been here a while, but it might be okay for new people like me. I mean, I really like seeing how people have used this similar set of elements before - somtimes it's also helped me to think about things that can make a comic effective, and, as a result, I'm floundering a little less with my own strips. Would people take offense at having something old re-posted without their permission?

As far as I'm concerned, go for it!

If possible, I'd reccomend trying to get their permission first. It's not like we can really copyright our work here, but still...

What the fuck are you on?

Post whatever comics you want here. It's when you start to post them off-site that the trouble could begin.

Okay - I'm going to post a couple of older comics by people who I know won't mind, and a couple by people who I just hope don't mind. I just wanted to post some comics that I thought were really good, and that go a little ways back. People who have been here for a while will likely have seen these, but here goes:

120399 - by not_Scyess

- I thought this was a really good way to deliver that joke, pacing-wise, and it makes perfect use of the guy on the right's facial expression.

98628 - by kaufman

- I love how this one ends. I mean, the use of the images alone to make that joke would make me laugh, but then there's the guy's inexplicable attitude about it.

3739 - by wirthling

- I don't know where this idea came from, but it's pretty clever. I also like that you can read it left to right, but then you probably have to go back, in whatever order, to fit them together again.

115180 - by Buffylavalamp

- This punchline caught me completely off-guard, and the guy looks filled with resignation, so it's even scarier.

120266 - by Buffylavalamp

- I love this one especially because of how the panels are used - it reads well as 3 separate 2-part panels or as 1 big panel.

No but seriously, nobody cares if you post their comics on this site. I mean there are 404 posts on the donating forums in one thread showing comics people liked of other people's comics.

Give me a break.

Seriously, if you post someone else's comics, and they tell you they object to it, you tell them to go fuck themselves. You tell them I said they should, too.

I think you're the first person in the history of the site to wonder whether it's okay to post other people's comics on the site without permission. Bonus points for being considerate, I guess.

Of the strips posted here so far, I like kaufman's the best. You're right -- the combination of the character's pose and dialog really makes it great.

Wow, good, I feel old. I actually recognize most of those comics (the funny ones anyway). Hold on, I'm gonna go look for some funny comics. Props for posting the drflow one. I think he's really funny, but he left pretty soon after he started.

That's the first time I've seen il_schmucko's graduate comic, it's fantastic.

Yeah... I thought he should have won the competition.

I blame it on the chads.

I saw that il_schmucko comic before, and thought it was great. It reminded me of this one, which is also great.

I was just looking for comics that were really gothic, and I didn't find any, but I liked this one quite a bit. Both of these were by Big Evil Dan.
